I purchased this item after hearing about it from a friend. As a first time mom, I was very concerned that my son's head would be flat since he refused to sleep on anything but his back (I tried putting him to sleep on his side and turning him during his naps but he always reverted to his back). I used sleep positioners when he was in his crib, but when he was in the car seat, bouncer or swing I always utilized this. I think it is great and I highly recommend it to all my friends and family members.

At the age of 4 months, our family took a 6 hour long car trip. Our baby was in his beloved costco carseat with its own insert for smaller babies. after 4+ hours, he began to whine and wanted to be held. it has never happened before during his car rides, granted he's never ride for so long, either. On the way back for another 6 hours, this time he started to whine a lot sooner, and we had to take frequent rest stops. at the last hour trip, he just didn't want to go back into his carseat anymore. Later on, I looked at his head, and his head was flattened on the back! We were driving a camery, and it must not have a very good shock absorbing system. As adults, we didn't realize it. For a small baby sitting in the backseat, not too well cushioned under his head, he was greatly affected. I began franticly searching for solutions to help his poor head. I found this product, and have been using it until now he's 9+ months. At around 6 month of age, I noticed a difference on his head. it seemed to have a little bump in the back! meaning, i could actually see the place of the hole looking rounder than before. It's really funny how little baby's head is REALLY that soft, changing shape according to their given environment. Those baby with round heads must not have slept on that back of head too much. I have been using this product ever since. I will use it for my next baby, and also probably get a car with better shock absorption. the cutout works well with most carseats and strollers. I have used this product in his costco carseat, his sit n stroll carseat/stroller, and briefly in the peg perego aria. It adapts well to all of them, no bulks. he seemed to like the extra cushion he gets with it, and I love the way his head seemed to get rounder with it. I am reluctant to put him on his back without using this.

I put this under my baby's head when he is playing with his play gyms on the floor. It provides extra cushion and I like that it helps keep my son from having a flat spot.

My baby was born frank breech and has torticolis--this product allows her head to rest in the proper position without us holding it!!! It has been a lifesaver!!

As for some of the other reviews I can understand why this product wouldn't be used often if you get a Snugride infant carseat that already comes with a headrest. And no you're not supposed to use this in the crib, anyone who reads the warning label like they should would know that. But for those of use who've chosen a convertible carseat that doesn't have one of these....THIS product is GREAT!!! I've recently purchased a Britax Marathon because of it's safety features and needed to get a head protector so that my baby girl won't roll her head from side to side and I think that having one that cushions and keeps from flattening the head is great! Sure...don't double up on headrests but if your stroller, bouncer, or carseat doesn't come with one, this one is perfect!!

This is an expensive pillow that is worth buying. I used it with my daughter because she was getting flathead. I do think it helped. I used it in her stroller, when she was on the floor playing and when she was in her bouncy chair. It's worth the money.

I highly recommend the Noggin Nest. Our 4-month old was developing some flatness on the back of her head from laying and sleeping on her back. We have been using the Noggin Nest in her car seat, bouncy seat, and swing for over a month and the results are very impressive! The flatness is nearly gone! Also, the Noggin Nest moves easily from one thing to another - it does not need to be attached to the infant seat, etc.

This was a great buy for me at a good price. My 3 month old loves in sleep with it, in fact she is able to sleep longer with it. It makes her car seat more comfortable when she has to be in for longer periods of time. Her head is still round and I am thinking of buying another one so I don't have to keep taking it out of the car seat to put it in the bouncer or swing!

Just get one of these (actually, I got two so I wouldn't have to keep moving it around so much.) At 2 months, our baby's head was getting awfully flat. Enough so that the pediatrician scheduled an appt at 3 months to look at it & possibly talk about "the helmet." I freaked & ran to our local BRU that same day. I used it in the swing, the activity rocker, the bouncer & in her stroller, but not her car seat. I also let her (danger danger!!) sleep on it at occassional naps. If I was sitting in my bed reading, I'd lay her next to me on her noggin nest for a nap. (Nothing dangerous there.) I wouldn't let her sleep on it at night, or anytime she wouldn't be constantly supervised. At any rate, by 3 months, the doctor said she had improved immensely, we'd just keep an eye on it. We kept using it & at 4 months, he said we didn't even need to worry about it anymore. I used it for a few more weeks after that, until she started turning her head a lot more at night & started sitting up. Now I only use it in her activity rocker as a pillow because she likes. She's 5 1/2 months now and has a beautiful round head! I can not recommend this highly enough!

I couldn't tell you if this is the reason my son's head is round in the back (smile). But I can certainly say that this is excellent for keeping the baby's head in a straight and comfortable position, specially when they are newborns and they spend a lot of time in their carrier, bouncy chairs or swings. This is not intended for use while sleeping in their crib.

I would not recommend using this product in lieu of the standard car seat headrest while transporting the baby in a car. After-market headrests that have not been crashed-tested could cause serious injury in the event of a collision.
