5.0 out of 5 stars AMazing!
Don't hesitate, buy this now. Our son was developin a flat spot on the right side of his head and the head was almost becoming lopsided! The doctor noticed it at his 2 month check up and just said to switch the side of his crib and try to prop his head. Well I wanted to be proactive so I bought one of these. AFter a week, I bought TWO more, that's how great they are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Small, not for bigger kids
This is a nice pillow for baby's head, but it is small. If your child is older than 3 months, his head will be too big to really do much good. It is primarily designed to be a car seat pillow, and most car seats come with a support pillow already. I wish I could have had this when my son was a newborn. The doctor noticed it at his 2 month check up and just said to switch the side of his crib and try to prop his head. Well I wanted to be proactive so I bought one of these. AFter a week, I bought TWO more, that's how great they are! We used them at night while he sleeps and also in the car seat and his swing. After just 6 weeks, the flat spot is 100% gone!!! His head is perfectly round and perfect. We had made an appointment in December for a specialist who deals with helmets and whatnot and I'm going to cancel it because it's totally fixed by this pillow. Can't recommend it enough!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This has helped my son greatly!, May 1, 2009
This review is from: Boppy Noggin Nest Head Support, Brown Wheels (Baby Product)
My son has a flat spot on the back of his head and our physical therapist suggested we order one of these for him. It can be installed in his car seat and taken out easily when doing his excersies one the floor. He is doing much better and this product has helped.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked Wonderfully, March 23, 2009

I bought this nest head for my grandaughter. It arrived in just a few days and is working wonderfully for her little head. She had a flat spot on the back of her head, and we felt this just might do the trick. It has really helped take the pressure off the back of her head and enabled the flat part to round out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tips for at home head shape assessment., April 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Boppy Noggin Nest Head Support, Brown Wheels (Baby Product)
My son loves to sleep turning his head to the right and at 2 months old he developed flat spot (plagiocephaly head shape when one of the sides at the back of the head is flat-there are 2 more flat spot shapes: flat back and flat both sides of the head). I bought this head support because of the great reviews.
At first I wasn't happy because it says that it can not be used for sleep, but since he can't change position by himself. Also I use it in a bouncer and car seat (works great in Chicco Keyfit 30), and for tummy time which is great for arms support. So during the night my son sleeps always on the back on Boppy head support, and during the day on the sides (I alternate sides to maintain good head shape). The boppy head support doesn't bother my son at all.

If you suspect that your baby's head has a abnormal shape talk to your doctor or you can make assessment at home:
1-from the bird's eye view normal head shape is 1/3 longer than it is wide,
2-both sides of the head should match and back of the head should be curved (my son's flat spot on the side of the head one ear was closer to the shoulder and one side of the head looked higher),
3- face should be symmetrical (look for narrow head, ears poking out at the top, one eye may appear smaller and one cheek fuller, bumps above the ears and forehead)
4- very easy to measure, this is how I checked improvement in my son's flat spot: put an index finger in each of the baby's ears while she is still sitting on someone's lap, then stand over the baby and look to see if your fingers line up.

At the beginning the line between fingers was quite big and I was skeptical if the Boppy head support will help, but here we are about 5 weeks later and his ears are almost even. The improvement is great and I highly recommend this product. I wish I could use it from the day one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get rid of that flat head!, April 17, 2009

(REAL NAME)
My son was developing quite the flat head, which the pediatrician noted on his 2-month well-child visit. I bought this noggin nest that same day and used it whenever I could. My son slept a lot during the day, not leaving much time for tummy-time. And I followed the SIDS recommendation of his sleeping on his back, so I guess that is why his head was getting so flat. But within a month of using this, we noticed a significant improvement in his flat head. By his 4-month visit with his pediatrician, the flat spot has nearly all resolved. I'm so glad we won't be needing the helmet to treat his previously misshapen head!

I really, really wish I got this sooner! I put it off for a few months...I got this for my baby boy when he was 7 months. He has a bigger head than the average baby and was a preemie, and had a VERY flat head :( --they say flat-head syndrome is more common with preemies... I was terrified at the prospect of him having to wear one of those helmets, so I decided to definitely get on the ball and order one of these. I'm so glad I did! Even though it says that it's recommended for babies from birth to 6 months, I obviously still used it anyway on my 7 month old. He's 9 months now and I can see to my satisfaction that there is some improvement. I'm glad there's any improvement at all, for introducing the product to him so late. Of course I'm positive that it would've been way better if we used this earlier. I do use this for when he sleeps even though they tell you not to. Hey, it helped my baby's head. Like a lot of others, I will definitely be buying these for future mommies.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, July 28, 2010
My son was born 5 weeks premature. While in the hospital they let him lay on his stomach but told me not to when we went home. Well, after three weeks his head was flat, even though I was trying to turn his head he would just move it right back. After a dr. visit I was told not to worry about it if it doesn't "go away" by 9-10 months he would need a helmet. I did not except that answer. I told the dr. my son will not need a helmet, if you wont help I'll fix it myself. I thought if his head was that soft to flatten that quick I should do something now before a helmet was necessary. I searched hours online read every review on every pillow. This pillow made the most sense. I made the right choice within a few day I could see a difference within 3 weeks it was almost completely gone. Now at 9 months of age his head is perfect!!!!!! No helmet needed, I'm sooooooo glad I didn't listen to the dr., who knows where we would be without this pillow or how much discomfort my son would be in or money how much money I would have had to spend, out of pocket or insurance Would cover it. This was a much better solution.

Update: my son is now almost two and the roundness is almost perfect. I can tell it's ever so slightly flatter on the right side but no one else would be able to. I would rate this product 10 stars if I could. I just had another baby full term and his head was nice and strong so with him there was no need for this pillow.

This is the best/only product we were able to find to help our twins with flat heads. With twins, it is inevitable that babies will spend more time on their backs. With these head supports we could help prevent flat heads. It is very versatile. We have used it in the swings, carseats, bouncy, and motion glider. I completely recommend this!!!

Wow--I wish I had known about this product earlier. My son is 3 1/2 months old and had developed an assymetrical head from always looking to one side while in his bed. We started turning him around so that the flatter side would fill back out again but we weren't seeing quick results. After using the Noggin Nest for 2 or 3 weeks, we can already see a difference. It's not completely round again but it's so much better! If I had known about this product, I would have used it from day one. We use it in his carseat (fits perfectly in the Chicco Keyfit), swing, bouncy seat, and while he's on his play mat. I've washed it once and it held up well. Great product!
