It's NICE, but........, November 9, 2006
This review is from: Borat (Audio CD)
I am very upset that Corky Buzsek's huge #1 hit in Kazhakstan, "Bing Bang, Bing Bang Bong" was no include in this CD. If they include, I'm rate it not just 5 stars, but High 5 stars!!!

High five!, November 10, 2006
This review is from: Borat (Audio CD)
The movie itself- hilarious! The soundtrack is fantastic, containing music from some of the best known artists of the Eastern European Gypsy (Roma) genre: Goran Bregovic (former rock star turned award winning composer), Esma Redzepova, Kocani Orchestra, Ivo Papasov, and more. Some of the songs are actually on the soundtracks of other movies (particularly the songs of Bregovic) such as "Time of the Gypsies" and "Underground" (both movies by Emir Kusturica) and Esma, who sings the opening "Caje Sukarije" has numerous CDs of her own, performs in a variety of languages, and has a broad international following, as does Bregovic.
The Borat soundtrack is a true gem for any fan of the character or the musical artists!
It would be worthwhile to check out the other wonderful films that use some of these songs in their soundtracks as well!

Music to Make Ethnic Babies to, November 1, 2006
This review is from: Borat (Audio CD)
Borat never ceases to amaze... Drawing on the roots of his native homeland, Borat has selected a great variety of music for the CD soundtrack to his film. This album combines traditional Eastern European Gypsy (Roma) tunes from countries such as Macedonia and Yugoslavia with Borat's Kazaki interpretations of popular Western hits such as "Born to be Wild". Borat's love of American culture has helped formulate an intoxicating mix of music sure to please any of his fans, and with hopefully enough CD sales he can help finance a flight back to his native country should they decide not to execute him.
Definitely check out "Chaje Shukaraje" by Esma Redzepova and Borat's own "Throw the Jew Down the Well".
Sure-fire #1 hits that are destined to become MTV favorites.
Unibrows not included.
