5.0 out of 5 stars Border Fine Arts A Complete Guide to Storybook Figurines, April 19, 2001

This review is from: Border Fine Arts Storybook Figurines (1st Edition) - The Charlton Standard Catalogue (Paperback)
This book was long in coming. A company which manufactures a figurine of this quality deserves to be recognised and catalogued. Marilyn Sweet has done just that with a book which is complete in every way. The History and story of Border Fine Arts is well researched and well explained. To those of us who have collected these items for years now have a great guide which we can turn to. The book is well indexed and offers great information on pricing(USA, Canada and UK), location of manufacture, issue date and retirement date of each figurine. Illustraions are offered for most of the figurines listed, some in colour and some in black and white. With all the information in the market on collectibles it was time Border Fine Arts had a comprehensive guide for collectors and thanks to Marilyn Sweet we now do.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the Details - Plus More, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Border Fine Arts Storybook Figurines (1st Edition) - The Charlton Standard Catalogue (Paperback)
If you collect BFA figurines from any of the series below, this excellent book is a MUST!

This particular guide highlights characters from Beatrix Potter, Brambly Hedge, Fairies, Legend of King Arthur, Oliver Otter and Friends, Peter Pan, Ruff and Reddy, Thelwell, Wind in the Willows and Winnie the Pooh.

There is a photo of each piece along with relevant details and pricing (covering production through the year 2000), with both alphabetical and model number indexes.

It also includes a history of BFA, how the figurines are made, and the background on each series.
