Buy it for the +11 character levels, not the add-on missions
on September 9, 2013
Let's get this straight. I LOVE Borderlands. I didn't even hesitate spending the 5 bucks for this UVHUP2. That said, there's really not much to it. It unlocks the ability to level your characters up to level 72, "overpower" enemies (make them higher levels than you), adds a few new legendary weapons, and that's about it. What else do you expect for 5 bucks, right? I guess I expected at least one new set of missions. The description says it includes the challenging "Raid on Digistruct Peak" map. But it's nothing more than Tannis instructing you around a little circular town and kill a dozen skags, a dozen marauders, dozen nomads, few midgets, and a couple cheezy reincarnations of bosses you've already fought at the end. If that sounds like a lot, then you haven't played very much Borderlands. I played by myself and didn't even go down once. You can easily have this entire mission done in 15 minutes no problem. And that's it. One mission. Not one set of missions, but one mission.
Unlocking the ability to level up to 72 was worth the 5 bucks alone. But I still couldn't help thinking "that's it?!" after completing the mission. I took off a star for that. Sorry guys, but it shouldn't have even been referenced in the description, it's so insignificant. I realize Borderlands isn't all about doing missions, but it is a large part of the game. UVHUP1 included a whole new difficulty level and forced us all to play the whole game again. UVHUP2 fell short of this...
But still worth every bit of 5 bucks for such an awesome game overall! :-)
