This review is from: Bored--nothing to do! (Hardcover)
A truly one-of-a-kind book about two resourceful brothers and the adventure they embark on. I read this book time and time again as a child, and even though there are probably not more than 100 words, it truly speaks volumes. The pictures are incredibly detailed, the story engaging, and any five-year-old will find himself instantly enthralled. Recommended for kids from 3 to 93.

I absolutely love this book -- what an incredible illustrator Peter Spier is! But that isn't all: the story is fun and really interesting for kids of all ages. As with all books by Peter Spier -- watch out you will get hooked with his style and you have to get them all!

The Mighty Flight,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
Bored-Nothing To Do is a fun-filled book. It tells of to very bored boys who can't find anything to until one of them decides that they should build an airplane. They take a bunch of their parents important things and build a high flying airplane and fly all across town. But when their parents notice that their windows, car engine, sheets and many other things have gone missing, they decide to go find their kids. That's when see them flying in the sky (...) This is one of my favorite books and I think that you will like it to. Many people only dream doing what these boys do which is one reason why this book gets five stars from me. Bored-Nothing To Do is a very fun adventure to read about.

This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
When I was a little girl my grandmother would sit and read this book to me. I loved every minute of it and dreamed, wondering if I could do something like the boys do. I highly recommend this book to people of all ages. Not only is it well written but the illustrations are awesome. I hope this review helps someone.

Makes an Important Point,

This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
I wish they would re-issue this book. I'd buy a copy for every family with kids I know - so the parents could read it and maybe pick up on the message: BOREDOM IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION. When I was young, all our best ideas and creations came after extended periods of boredom. We suffered while we were bored, yes, but then we thought of some "really great idea!!" or other. Planning, building, and organizing that great idea into reality, even if we sometimes failed, was much more fun (and educational) than TV, videogames, or even a trip to Disneyland. How many kids nowadays even get the chance to be bored? There's always a screen close by, or a parent or teacher to give them something to do. And yet, they don't seem very happy. Okay, I've ranted enough - the book says it a lot better than I can.

This book may be one of the most important books I have read,
This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
This book was clearly my favorite as a child. Ever since then, I have been enthralled with airplanes, and I have always tried to see what I am capable of doing, just like the brothers in this book. 17 years since my first reading, I am now graduating with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Coincidence?... I think not.

A Great Book to Inspire "Boredom"!,
This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
This was a great book to inspire "bored" kids. In one afternoon two boys turn their boredom into an adventure to build their own airplane. Mom and Dad aren't so happy when they discover the boys have found pieces of their things to use as airplane materials. Very fun story!

This is a book we borrowed from the library about 25 years ago when my son was small. He just loved it. We kept borrowing it, but eventually had to return it much to our disappointment. We just loved it and in those days it was so hard to get another copy. It was fantastic to be able to buy it after all these years. My grandson loves it now.

classic spier,

This review is from: Bored, Nothing to Do (Paperback)
This is an oldie, but goodie - classic Spier. The art work dominates, as it should, since the book is about imagination. There is very little text. It is an excellent book for sharing with a child ( I think about 4 to 7 or 8 years old though older children would appreciate the humor too). Discussion starters abound and fancy takes flight. Out of boredom, two boys find creative play. They get the idea to build an airplane out of "spare parts" lying around the house and barn. Eventually they must put everything back and they end up where they began - "Bored, Nothing to Do".
