This review is from: The Boredom Diet: Permanent Weight Loss as a Matter of Routine (Paperback)
I looked for this book on Amazon.com because I heard the author talking about it when he was a guest on a large local radio morning show. I was curious then but impressed now. It's a short book and I am reading it for second time.
I liked the book because it was simple to understand. It contained good advise and allows the reader to develop his/her own diet according to simple rules. The author clearly was not out to get rich but to help people. Some of his statements have been validated for me lately by other doctors I have heard who agree with his theories as well. Although they didn't give him credit, they also didn't say these ideas were their own. I liked his theories and the system continues to work for him. It is working for me too.

My wife gave me a copy of The Boredom Diet recently. I have never read a diet book and I usually scoff at the diet fads, yet I constantly struggle with my weight and recently I have been loosing (or is it gaining). Michael Woodward's idea of making your food choices routine and regular is a good one. As a former chef and current "foodie" I wonder about the practicality (for me) of making it boring. That, however, is beside his main point of developing a long-term goal and taking personal responsibility for that goal, which is something I will put in place. This book has given me several good ideas that will that are well within my ability to achieve and I look forward to many positive changes in my life. As the author states I did not ask to be overweight, but I will choose to be thin.
