highly original elctro garage-core,

my own classification made up of this Seattle band represented at their finest here. A great record that borrows nothing but a halting propulsive sound - which is raw and highly processed. I think some of their other releases are not as solid as this one which makes me really groove in the basement sound given dimension with lots of electornic retro keyboard filtered to give a raw punch. a record I routinely revisit year after year.

This is not my favorite Intelligence album but it's the first one i heard and i knew from the beginning of song 2 that i was hooked...(song 3 only cemented that fact in my mind)! This album is raw and unhinged...propulsive and violent...and yet it has an irresistible discordant complexity that rewards many MANY listens. Yes, it's 'lo-fi'...yes, it's a little grating at times...but somehow you want more...more...MORE! The only Intelligence album i CAN'T recommend is "Icky Baby" but that came later...start here and never look back!!
