About 4 years ago I have gotten a strange ear infection, which would hurt slightly, and the skin in my ears would flake a bit, but no other symptoms. For the longest time I did not know what it was, meanwhile the infection got worst, and started to bother me a lot more. Doctors told me it is all in my imagination. Then I started to have sinus headaches, only I did not know that at the time, since I never before had a sinus infection or headache. When a strange orange mucus started coming out of my nose, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and given ten days of antibiotics. This cleared up the mucus but I still felt all of my old symptoms. I was told that it will go away. It did not. It started to get worst again. And again I have got antibiotics. Now for six weeks. I took the pills until my ears started to ring, but the symptoms did not go away. This repeated several times. I have visited an ENT three times. I have got a CAT scan, they did not find anything except a slightly deviated septum which they offered to correct surgically. I a have spent a lot of $$$ on doctor visits, with no results. Eventually my life became one big non stop sinus infection. The smell was the most bothersome. Sinus headaches are as bad as migraines.

Now after 4 years, and a lot of research, I know, from reading the works of reputable medical professionals, that a chronic sinus infection is fungal in 90% of the cases. This is why antibiotics never worked.

Since I could not convince my doctor to treat me for a fungal infection, even though at this time I had fungal infection all over my ears and even on my face I have decided to try boric acid.

I have used 1 teaspoon of boric acid for 250mL of water and added 1/4 teaspoon of KOSHER salt. I used a squizee bottle to wash my sinuses and ears with the solution. My infection was under control within a week. I washed my sinuses for two weeks twice a day, and for two weeks once a day. Now I am using it once a week.

You got to be careful not to swallow any of the liquid, and to drink a lot of water to remove any boric acid which gets in. But otherwise this has been a pain free and completely successful treatment. It will work for bacterial infections too, since boric acid is an all around antiseptic.

For me this stuff was a life saver. Good stuff. Tried and tested for medical use.

PS. I am definitely changing my doctor, 4 years without a proper diagnosis is way too much.

I'm very into natural and alternative methods but sometimes they don't work as quickly as over the counter methods. I've tried ALL of the natural methods for yeast infections (garlic, acidophilus, tea trea oil, etc) and they provide only short term relief. This one is amazing. At the first sign of a yeast infection I insert one capsule (remember, it's just the powder so you have to fill your own capsule) at bedtime and have much relief by morning. I do this for a few days and then the symptoms are gone. I do it in the morning too if symptoms warrant it. It is messy so you'll need to wear a pad.

This was recommended to me by my Doctor for female issues. It seems that there are so many different benefits to Boric Acid. I couldn't live with out this product. It seems that many old time products work better then new ones. It was surprising to me that it kills cockroaches. I have used it for years.

Sometimes men get yeast infections in the skin of the pubic region. This is commonly known as jock-itch. There are over the counter treatments for this, but when those don't work, Boric Acid Powder sometimes will. Sometimes a yeast infection won't be bad enough to cause chafing or itching, but will still cause an odor problem. If a man's genitals have a bad smell, it could be yeast. Dust some Boric Acid Powder all over the male pubic region, the inner thighs, and the crack of the derrierre. A few days of doing this should get rid of odor if the odor was caused by yeast.

I cannot believe how well this product worked. I just used it last night and already noticed an incredible difference(no odor, practically no discharge and no cloudiness in my urine). I had yeast and bacterial infections in the past that went away after the use of doctor prescribed drugs. This time for 4 months, I went back and forth to doctors to treat recurrent bv and yeast infections that were completely resistant to aggressive treatment. Keep in mind that I am a healthy 31 year old who had myself tested for sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, and diabetes to rule out other possibilities. When the medication, both oral and topical, cleared up the bacterial infection, I would suffer from a yeast infection; after the round of yeast treatment, both oral and topical, the bv would come back. I felt like I was going round and round in circles.
A doctor recommended boric acid to me, but I could not locate a pharmacy that sold it, so I went with a diluted form that only suppressed symptoms but did not rid me of my never-ending embarrassing problems. A friend then recommended to me that I do an herbal parasite cleanse with a probiotic and reduce/eliminate my sugar intake(including pasta and bread); not only was the diet aspect of this process extremely impractical but the routine failed me. I started cruising the internet every day for hours to research other alternatives and came up with a fresh garlic douche; this was physically painful and equally as disappointing.
Finally, I stumbled across articles that mentioned pure boric acid and 00 capsules to be used intravaginally for 2 weeks; these articles also included information on where the products could be purchased. I had no idea that the treatment would be so fast and effective. It has been a short while for me, but judging by the short term results I've experienced combined with the testimonies of other boric acid suppository users, I'm more than confident in the efficacy of this product.
I will continue to use probitics in hopes of maintaining an environment that is not conducive to fungal and bacterial growth, but if ever I notice the infection returning, I am overjoyed in knowing that I finally have something that will work.Jarrow Formulas - Fem Dophilus, 30 capsules

I've used boric acid for years to kill ants. You have to dissolve the boric acid first in hot water, then mix it with jelly. I worked in an entomology lab when I was in college, and we conducted an experiment to find out what kind of jelly ants prefer--believe it not. The winner? Apple mint jelly. Stir the dissolved boric acid into the jelly until it's completely mixed, then put the jelly in small containers (shallow bottle caps work, but just anything the ants can crawl into will work) and lay them out in the ants' path. You don't need a lot--just a tablespoon or so. Replace as necessary so it doesn't get hard. The ants will take it back to the nest, and within a few days you won't see ants anymore. I used to buy boric acid at a local pharmacy when I lived in Colorado, but since moving to New Hampshire I can't find a store that carries it. This is a great price. Thanks, Amazon!

It works great as an insecticide - either as a powder blown behind baseboards or mixed with sugar and water and to use with cotton balls as ant bait. But if you look at Wikipedia - it really _IS_ used medicinally for jock itch, athlete's foot and for yeast infections - both in humans and in animals (ears)! I haven't tried these applications, but I may try it on my dog's ear if using Zymox doesn't work first. Anyway, it is toxic in a rather high dose if ingested orally. But who wants to eat it? (-:

As a fast and effective bug killer, I highly recommend boric acid. I have had amazing results getting rid of unmentionable bugs when I lived in an apartment years ago. This is so easy to use and it's effective, especially if you have pets. You just sprinkle it around the area where you've seen those disgusting bugs and they eat it and go somewhere never to be seen again. I wish I had remembered to sprinkle it between the walls when I was building my house.

By the way, you rarely have to use it. It works and you may never have a problem again for years! It's just that effective.

put some powder in your shoes and socks for 7 days. You will forget about sweaty feet.

Glad to find this product online. Stores don't have it anywhere now.
It has many uses besides the yeast infection. Mine was for eye washing.
It also kills ants. Look at the products for killing ants and you will see that the good ones has this in it.
