I'ts a well written, lavishly illustrated book, a must for Becker fans. A word about the "missing" information about his African-American wife and his problems with the German "I.R.S." the reviewer from Nottingham can't find in this book: the book was published (in English) in 1987,
a few years before any of those topics and problems existed. He was a darn good tennis player and a great champion, with 6 Grand-Slam titles, 49 singles titles in all, a doubles Gold Medal from the Barcelona Olympics. He also helped Germany to win the Davis Cup a couple of times and he was a great Role-Model to many people, young & old.

It's all very well producing a book about Mr. Becker's tennis exploits, and granted, he was quite good, for a time, until his balls dropped, but I feel that a lot was missed from this oeuvre, which, had the publishers stopped to think, could have turned it into a big fat cash-cow.
For example, I, for one, would have liked to have read how Becker's relationship with his black partner threatened to undermine the very fabric of German society.
I'd have like there to have been a Boris' tips section, as well, in which Mr. Becker recounts the best ways to avoid tax fraud, and also his hints as to how to hide in a wardrobe.
An opportunity missed, quite frankly.
