I'm in the process of replacing all my plastic food storage containers with glass. I prefer the Bormioli with translucent lids to the Pyrex with blue lids. I like these square/rectangular shapes - easier to store in the refrigerator or freezer. Excellent product!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not airtight or leakproof.
These containers are attractive, chemical free and made in Italy. Great. But they aren't leakproof, which is kind of a basic requirement for tupperware, right? I was storing peaches in juice in one of the small containers and it got tipped on it's side while someone in my family was frantically looking for something. Then, I noticed peach juice dripping all over the shelf...

These containers are attractive, chemical free and made in Italy. Great. But they aren't leakproof, which is kind of a basic requirement for tupperware, right? I was storing peaches in juice in one of the small containers and it got tipped on it's side while someone in my family was frantically looking for something. Then, I noticed peach juice dripping all over the shelf below. Ugh. I hate cleaning the fridge, especially scraping off sticky peach juice. I only purchased three luckily, and went with the Glasslock for the rest that I needed to buy. Tonight I put water in the Glasslock and sealed the lid and then shook it like a Polaroid picture. Not one drop left the inside of that container. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are great!, November 17, 2008
I really enjoy this product, I swear my food tastes better stored in glass! They are also very convenient to use and don't stain or warp in the dishwasher. I'm a very happy customer :)

We are very pleased with these glass food storage containers. We very much prefer storing food items in glass, as opposed to plastic containers. I highly recommend these ... and, they wash beautifully!

If I wanted non-see-thru blue lids I would've gone with the pyrex, which you can also bake in. Now these have arrived with ugly blue lids, not see-thru. I'm returning them. I just hope the other bormiolli sets still have clear lids. They really help us find what we're looking for in the fridge.

I researched a couple of brands of glass containers and I'm really happy that I went with Bormioli. My food stays fresh, the containers are attractive (I sometimes use the largest one as a serving dish without the lid) and good quality. These are great shapes, and they nest which is convenient for storage. I don't have a microwave, so no commentary there. The plastic lids are easy to press into place and to remove, and they don't generally absorb food odors. My husband did leave the smallest container in the fridge for several weeks with chopped onion, and that did smell like onions -- I just soaked the lid in warm soapy water and viola, odor gone.
