Huge fan of Bormioli,

Over the last 4-6 months I have purchased over 40 different types of glass storage containers in an attempt to steadily remove plastic from our food storage. There's no telling what the final analysis will be even on the newly acclaimed "safe plastics" (oxymoron) since now they are saying that all plastics have the potential to leak toxins. Never the less, you will never go wrong buying Bormioli. They are made from extremely sturdy glass. They also use good quality rubber seals and metal clasps. You can tell a difference from other brands. This size is large enough for big boxes of cereal, small bags of dog food, bulk pastas, rice, flour etc. I LOVE that you can see what's in your pantry and know if you are running out! I will also say definitively that purchasing an ALL glass storage unit (top and bottom) WITHOUT the metal CLAMPS and rubber seals will not preserve the freshness of any food product. For instance, the stackable square jars (another brand) look great but don't provide a good seal. These are the best!
