Hi,
If you are looking for a medium sized pitcher with good looks and functionality, this is the pitcher for you. Continue reading below for my pros and cons regarding the Bormioli Chiller.

Pros:
*The chiller looks very nice. It's compact and easily fits in the second shelf in my fridge
*Hard glass; definitely made of quality glass--not the cheap ones that seem like they'll break with a slight tap of your nails.
*Ice Container is a very nice feature. Fill the plastic tube with as many ice cubes as will fit; your drinks will be cold w/out being watery
*Drinks pour our easily w/out spilling unto your floors or whereever else, just be careful not to pour too fast or naturally it'll spill

Cons:
*As advertised, the components are plastic, i.e the white lid cover, stirrer (I recall one reveiwer mentioning they never received it, well it was supplied with the pitcher)and plastic ice tube.
*unlike the good quality glass, i felt the plastic was cheap and flimsy; guess you can't have everything in one product
*Handle is short and I wish it was longer

Overall I gave this pitcher a 4 b/c of the cons and also b/c it appeared larger in the picture or maybe it was me. In any case, this is a great picher for a single person or very small family. I definitely recommend buying this and keeping your drinks cold this summer! Enjoy.

I've had mine for about 9 months now and I love it. I don't have a dish washer in my apartment so when I went looking for a new pitcher, it had to be easy for me to clean. This one's great. I can easily fit my hand inside to clean it. The glass is also nice and solid. I accidentally dropped it washing it one day and it was fine.f

This would be a perfect product if only the lid was plastic. The inner ice tube is also plastic. The whole purpose, for me, of getting a glass pitcher was so that my drink would not be exposed to the plastic. 3 stars because they don't make it clear that the inner tube is plastic.

I always like to have a pitcher of iced tea in the fridge during the summer and this has become our favorite one to use. I actually stumbled across this looking at a friends wish list here on Amazon. It looked so nice that I sent her one and grabbed one for myself.

I have to admit when I received it I thought "There is NO WAY this pitcher holds 72 oz!" What I learned was don't let the size deceive you - I measured it and it does. I now have a beautiful serving pitcher that I enjoy using with guests and I always have iced tea cold and ready to drink. I will note that I have only used the "ice container" once. I prefer to just have ice in my drink so it hasn't been as useful to me as it might be to others. Also being that this is glass, I have made sun tea in it when I have time. Definitely a great bargain for a very nice item! I posted a picture of mine in the customer images.

Do not hesitate to buy this pitcher! For years, I have been searching for a pitcher that is eco-friendly glass, not too heavy yet well made and easy to use. THIS IS IT! This pitcher is the perfect thickness for everyday use without wearing your arm out. It is beautifully smooth, sturdy and has a conveniently placed solid glass handle. The shape makes it very attractive, difficult to tip over and very easy to clean. The ice insert is made from eco-friendly material (NOT plastic like other reviewers have been saying) and could be left out of the container if more space is needed. The ice insert actually screws into the top to keep it in place. There is no dripping or leaking from the top at all when pouring and the added stirrer is a nice touch. (Although it doesn't work too well with the top on). For the price and Amazon's two-day free shipping, it's a deal that can't be beat. This is definitely a "MUST BUY" if you are looking for the perfect glass pitcher!

I have used this glass jug every weekend for over a month. If my family ate together every night, I would use it every night! For ten dollars it is also a great deal. I read the reviews before I bought it and one or two people complained because the entire jug was not glass. I am glad the lid is plastic or I would have broken it at least twice by now. It pours very nicely. I serve ice tea, koolaid, white wine, water, etc and it truly holds 2 quarts.
I wash it by hand mainly because I wash everything I really like by hand. Something about San Antonio water seems to etch glass in the dishwasher and I dont want to take any chances with this beauty.

I have had the jug for several months now and I have been washing it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Comes out looking like new every time.

The Toddy Coffee brewer fits perfectly on top of this jug. It is heavy duty and I like the handle as opposed to the Toddy Decanter which has thinner glass and which I am afraid of dropping since it has no handle. I have never used the insert but I guess it would do it's job of keeping contents cold.

The only other 2-quart pitcher I own is a cheap Rubbermaid thing that claimed to be leakproof, but never pours without whatever liquid is inside dribbling out under the supposed seal on the lid. I had to hold a paper towel under the spout just to keep the counters dry when I wanted a drink. So I started looking for something better. I wanted something with a cover on just because I am paranoid about things falling into an open container in the fridge, and perhaps also to prevent spills. And there's all the buzz about how plastic is bad for food and drink storage, so I started looking into glass, and this seemed like a nice option.

Some things I discovered upon receiving the pitcher:
- The lid does not snap on, it simply rests on the top of the pitcher. It also has a wide opening with no cover over the spout. So if the pitcher were to get knocked over, it's not stopping the liquid from getting out. The opening also won't keep bugs out, if you're using it outside. I've also had it fall off while I was pouring a drink once.
- The pitcher can hold 2 quarts, IF the ice tube is left out. With the ice tube in I'd guess you could get about 1 quart of liquid in without it overflowing. The ice tube was not important to me, though it does occur to me that it might act to weight down the lid when attached and full.
-The ice tube is plastic, if you are very concerned about your drinks touching plastic.
-It dribbles a little while pouring, but at least it never promised to be leak proof like my old pitcher did. There may also be a trick to pouring without drips that I haven't learned yet.

On the upside, it is pretty, the stir stick seems like it could come in handy, and I can pour very hot water directly into the pitcher to brew iced tea without getting an extra container dirty. So while it's not perfect for what I originally wanted it for, I still like it. As long as you know ahead of time what you're really getting, this would not be a bad addition to your kitchen.

I often host parties and serve punch-type beverages. Instead of guests opening/closing my refrigerator constantly, or having an open punch bowl where the beverage warms quickly, I now use my ice pitcher. It doesn't hold too much, so I keep a large plastic pitcher in the fridge and refill the Bormioli pitcher when it gets low. The ice insert stays iced throughout the 'life' of the punch. I ordered an additional one for my party throwing mother!

Overall, this was a great buy. I only wished the lid covered the top completely. That way you'll know there won't be any contaminants entering the jug. It's not really a big deal, but I still hoped to find something that left no openings at the top. I shopped around for a long time in stores and online. In the end, I couldn't find a single glass pitcher that completely sealed the top. Instead, I had to unattractively put saran wrap to cover the opening. In the end, it's not much to complain about.
