I searched for quite a long time to find a glass dessert dish that has this contemporary look. This design by Bormioli fills the bill perfectly. I ordered them specifically for a holiday party to serve vanilla ice cream drizzled with green creme de menthe topped with a small candy cane. It was a lovely display. Since, I have used for fruit salad and a parfait dessert. These dishes make a really nice presentation.
I have not experienced the fragility some reviews mention and I hope I do not because I love these bowls!!

I JUST LOVE THESE BOWLS. ThEY ARE PERFECT FOR ICE CREAM OR ANY DESERT. THEY ARE STURDY BUT ELEGANT. IN FACT, I ORDERED A SECOND SET JUST IN CASE ONE BREAKS. FRESH FRUIT LOOKS REALLY NICE IN THE BOWL AND ADDS A BIT OF CLASS TO ANY PRESENTATION.

I ordered 8 of these pretty bowls a couple years ago. The glass is reasonably thick but more brittle than I'd hoped. These bowls show off desserts attractively, don't seem to get etched in my dishwasher (I load them so they can't move and I use Ecover detergent), and stack three high, albeit precariously, in the cupboard. However one arrived shattered and I managed to break another and chip three by accidentally knocking the base of another glass against the lip of these. For the record, I have two small children but they were not remotely involved in the breakages.
