Sparks are flying, July 6, 2010
This review is from: Born on the 4th of July: Friendly Fire\The Prodigal\Packing Heat (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Jill Shalvis, Rhonda Nelson and Karen Foley deliver three smoking hot stories in Born On The 4th Of July. Friendly Fire by Jill Shalvis, had a severely injured Cord Madden returning home. Rhonda Nelson's story The Prodigal has Chase Harrison coming to put his late father's affairs in order. His father's secretary Rorie Beddingfield has had a crush on Chase as long as she can remember. Rorie decides its now or never to get Chase to notice her. Packing Heat by Karen Foley has teacher Megan O'Connell connecting not just on paper with her classes adopted Marine. Matt Talbot is good at his job as a sniper but the letters and pictures from Megan show him that there might be something missing from his life. Born On The 4th Of July has three tales of great heroes and the woman that love them. This Blaze anthology is a perfect read for the summer. Its hot and sexy, with powerful emotions weaved into each story.

Get ready for HOT HOT HOT!, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Born on the 4th of July: Friendly Fire\The Prodigal\Packing Heat (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
I got this book somewhat unintentionally, as I bought the Harlequin Blaze July 2010 books in a bundle. Boy am I glad this came with it! Normally I'm a fan of single title romance, longer stories, more development etc etc, but I found that each of the stories in this collection pulled me in right away. WOW! "Friendly Fire" and "Packing Heat" especially had me pausing to madly fan myself, while still providing those very romantic, tender moments. "The Prodigal" did these things too, but on a lesser level, as the sexy parts didn't seem quite as meaningful to me as they did in the other two stories. If you're looking for a little hot escapism, go get this book!

Let The Fireworks Begin!, July 4, 2010
This review is from: Born on the 4th of July: Friendly Fire\The Prodigal\Packing Heat (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't usually like short stories just because if I really like the story, it's over before I know it and I'm left longing for more. But Born On The 4Th of July has a story written by Jill Shalvis and she is one of my favorite authors, so it was a no brainer that I was buying it - short stories or not. Her story, Friendly Fire did not disappoint. It was my favorite of the three and it was over way too quick - just what I was afraid of. I could have used a whole book about hottie Cord Madden! The other two entries (The Prodigal and Packing Heat) were ok and I actually enjoyed them and was satisfied with their short story format, but they cetainly weren't as compelling as Friendly Fire. This was an easy, quick, and great for a Saturday afternoon in the sun read.
