A few months ago I acutally had a chance to meet Knine at the taping of "Mix Master's Lounge" a new Holy hip hop variety show currently airing on INSP cable station. He definitely loves the Lord with his shining and most humble Spirit. This project is the best I've ever heard, from the lyrics to the beats. This was definitely needed for ALL!

I am a true fan of hip hop,well music period and i kno how hard it is to find music worth ur money and time i brought common thinkin it was gonna be the c.d of the year i was wrong earlyr this year i brought eminem hopeing for lyrical prowles i got nothin so i brought 50 cent....nothin so i retreated from the main stream to come across knine i was skeptical at first but after the first track i realized knine came to play althou this is christen hip hop it has mass appeal wit banggin beats and a honest flow and lyrics to brake ya rewind button.the thing thats appealing about knine is he has a leader quality with out laughable "gangster" hooks or endless refence to riches and things young men kill themselves for but at the same time he never claimed to be perfect not once threw the c.d knine from what i can tell knine takes music as seriously as i do and to me that sounds like garunteed hot music for the future

First of all I'm not really a religious guy and dont listen to gospel music but one day I got an email from a friend saying a guy is giving away a free mixtape just send him your address so I did!! And what came in the mail was easily the best mixtape I've EVER heard and I've heard alot of them!!!!! This dude lyrically a MONSTER easily one of the best rappers ALIVE!! and all through this mixtape he's plugging his album "Born Again...Aug 23rd, Born Again ...Aug 23rd" at least 50 times so when Aug 23rd came I was brainwashed and bought it and if one word could describe it it would have to be AMAZING!!!



First of all there are 17 songs on this cd which could either be a good thing or a bad thing fortunatly in this case it a good thing.


The first song Bout Time sets the stage for what this dude is all about being unique and different he spits silky smooth while the hook is rough as sandpaper this joint was crazy.

Brought Me From is kinda like a autobiography of his childhood growing up in a dopehouse he paints pictures with his lyrics that would make Van Gough proud, you feel like you are right there with him, the track sounds like something out of a movie ...SICK

Dime was a song that really stuck out to me I could relate to it not really on a spiritual level but it basically talks about making the same mistakes over and over again something I do alot :(

It dont matter...If youve ever seen the movie Passion of Christ this is the closest thing you'll get to it in song form he talks about the dying and death and how he doesnt fear it because he knows what lies ahead for him it makes you think a line from here that stuck out was:

Take me to the highest oak tree
In the entire country

on my neck put the noose
and when it snaps dont cut me loose

leave me up there and spread the word
let my dead body feed the birds

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!

His voice is very unique its not deep not high but a nice balance and makes you want to listen.

I Dont Love You - a HILARIOUS song featuring Satan himself classic!!

These Eyes- this joint can make you cry its so vivid and touching yet raw and grimey

Dear Cuz- a letter to his cousin in jail telling him how he's changed you GOTTA hear this for yourself!!

Better Place -My Son LOVES this song I guess because it features kids on it (I must admit its kinda catchy after the 4th time hearing it)


BUT

The icing on the cake has to be In My Shoes it has a dude doing poetry and then when Knine comes on if you dont get chills by the time he's done check your pulse please.

This is the BEST album I've heard this year and I have them all pretty much, I'm thinking Kanye will soon join him or maybe pass him next week but it wont be easy. The cd has christian themes yet it feels like you are listening to something RAW and STREET at the same time and he does it with no cussin AT ALL which meant my son could listen to it in the car with me, I love this album its was a very pleasant surprise its a MUST for every hip hop collection!!

This artist is HOT! I am a saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost sistah and yes I do like the HIP HOP beats! I just didn't want the lyrics that went along. Knine is a breath of fresh air! Thank you Lord! Get this CD and Praise the Lord!

Wooof!! The Dog did it again I bought his first cd REGARDLESS and it was hot but I didnt feel the beats. So this time I wasnt sure if it would be more of the same, HE STEPED HIS GAME UP BIG TIME!!! The beats on here are crazy and it SOUNDS good. There are soo many songs on here but you never feel like its TOO many!! He got SALT on this one WOW she spit a hot verse on Never Alone, A hot cd through and through I'll be listening this one for a WHILE!!!!

I think this cd is probably one of the if not the best I bought this year, K9 is a storyteller out of this world!! Check out Crak Came and These Eyes, Salt did her thing!!!It was real good to hear from her, The spoken word guy Raw Word's voice is so raw and him and k9 sound perfect on a track, I didnt really know what to expect from this one but it more than lived up to the hype surrounding it, when I saw that there were 17 songs I figured it was just a bunch of fillers like charlie murphy say's...Wrong....Wrong


The beats were banging no complaints there, this is the kind of cd you can put on and clean up the house, you can just let this one play and not need to touch the FF button.

Highlight: Switch this one could probably bang in the club, real nice

Lowlight: Doing it I really liked this one it reminded me of MY childhood, I dont understand why it ended like it did though....

Best thing: When it comes to lyrics this album is flawless some themes and concepts are borderline brilliant

Worst Thing: No skits, although the album is lined up very well its just lacking the personallity of other classic's like ready to die, hard knock life, You want to know hear more from him besides the music,


Overall : 4 1/2 stars VERY close to a classic not quite though

Knine has a meshed flow that is HOT! By meshed I mean that you can't place him in any one category of rapper styles because he can sound like all of the styles (East,MidWest,Derty Souf,Houston,West). I think the difference between this rapper and others that I have heard is that he places you in his world. You feel a heartfelt connections with him by the last song. He is also IN LOVE with JESUS and you know it by his lyrics. He talks about his love for his wife and family also which is admirable.
I want to preface the rating by saying that you could listen to this cd all the way through if you so desired because the flow is tight on every single song, but the rating is an overall view of everything in the song like beat, chorus...
1. Bout Time- 3/5 because of the chorus but the flow makes you get over it quick.
2. Brought Me From- 5/5 nice bass line with some brass accents
3. Dime-5/5 makes you really reflect on your christian life and how you could be better...flow's tight.
4. It Don't Matter-4/5 sampled person is annoying but the flow makes you get over it once again.
5.Automatic- 5/5 has an indian type beat and talks about his blessings, flow's tight.
6. So Glad-5/5 talks about how much he loves his family...I feel you, flow's tight.
7. Never Alone-5/5 smooth chorus about how God will never leave you, Flow's tight.
8. Doin It-5/5 kind of a 90's beat feel but it's tight he takes you through his early years, flow's tight.
9. Crack Came-5/5 nice flow that also goes through a time in his life when he first learned about crack from his family member using, oh yeah...flow's tight.
10. Better Place-5/5 has children singing the chorus and he's talking about heaven, Flow's tight.
11.Switch-5/5 talking about how he changed from worldly to Godly, flow's tight.
12. These Eyes-5/5 south flow talking about how nobody wins when murder happens one person dies and the other goes to jail so both are lost, flow's tight.
13. Lazy- 5/5 he's asking the Lord to forgive him for being lazy and details how lazy he has been, Flow's tight.
14. Dear Cuz- 5/5 is a letter to his cousin in Jail where he's telling him about Jesus and to use the time to read the Bible, flow's tight.
15. I don't Love You-5/5 he's talking to the devil telling him how he is smart to how he has been the root of all problems and he's through dealing with him, beat is TIGHT AND...flow's tight.
16. Work out Fine-5/5 Talks about how he knows about hard times and that everything will work out fine. Some things he says will have you seriously relating. Flow's tight.
17. In My Shoes-6/5 If you are not ready for this song you will be caught off guard. You can feel his pain he is conveying from the very first line that he spits. It starts with a poem and then he raps...oh yeah, flow's TIGHT.

PICK UP UNDERDOGG HIS LATEST CD.

Knine has a solid flow in the gospel rap game. 'Dear Cuz' is a track with beat and a lot of heart, while 'I don't love you' packs humor. Good diversity. When he gets some more 'Word' in his music, he'll be true to the game.

I have high standards because I first fell in love with The Cross Movement but Knine's production is tight which is also important to me. He doesn't have the deeper content that Flame, CM and LaCrae do but it's respectable to be sure.
