Did it again...,
By Ashley...who knows what she talking about! (Myrtle Beach, SC) - See all my reviews

This album is incredible. I would recommend if you're new to SOJA to start off with Get Wiser, but if you're already a SOJA fan, this is a "duh" move. You can't beat the lyrics, song composition, depth of the messages...I could go on forever. Within 10 seconds of the first track you'll be hooked. First line of the album: "I came from nothin' but not nothin' like nothin', nothin', like nobody thought I was somethin', nothin', like called every name in the book, but for every secong guess I never gave a second look..." Bam. Born in Babylon is an amazing song, You and Me is beautiful, I Don't Wanna Wait has a great message about politics and all of what we shouldn't put up with from Babylon ("a racist leader no one trusts and an army that's bigger than us," obviosuly written before Obama). But the song that puts chills down my spine is Summer Breeze. It's all about how Mother Earth seems to be lashing out and there's something missing in how we live and we should reconnect with nature and spirituality-"karma happens, doesn't matter 'bout which Bible I go, and I can feel it in the air whether I read it or not..." I can not say enough good things about this album or this band. Any reggae fan should own everything they've ever put out, period. It IS a less roots-y than their other stuff, there seems to be more of a mix of styles on this record. But no one I know is complaining! Fabulous band, period.

Love this album, a little different from "Peace In a Time of War" and "Get Wiser" overall, I really enjoyed it.I would highly suggest seeing them live too, they put on a fantastic show!

Another example of how Beautiful & Meaningful music should be like. This is an excellent collection of songs, put together in this CD. The arrangement of their songs are perfect, voices sound great, the lyrics are fantastic. This CD is a must have for anyone who likes Reggae, with a meaning and purpose. These guys are great artist. Five Stars all the way for this album.
