My daughter and I watched this together over the weekend, and we loved it! We love animals and adventure, and 'Born To Be Wild' is the best animal adventure we have seen since 'Free Willy.' A young boy is supervised to take care of Katie, a 400-pound gorilla. At first, Rick, who is age fourteen, doesn't find this job to be so great. Despite his opinion, he obeys his mother, and takes care of Katie everyday after school. As Rick teaches Katie sign-language, and begins to play games with Katie, they become good friends. Before you know it, there is a bond between Rick and Katie, and they will do anything to protect each other. This includes Rick at the rescue of setting Katie free, and they travel together to make that freedom come true. As they venture off in a van, there is laugh-out-loud entertainment, while Katie gets into mischief, and Rick protects her. Mission is accomplished at the end, when Katie must live in the wild, and Rick must live as a normal teenager. As they depart, the emotional moment of leaving each other will indeed bring tears to your eyes. The adventure is packed with super-charged action, the story is compelling and intriguing, and the setting is picture-perfect. Sound effects are awesome. Overall, an adventure the entire family would enjoy. Highly recommended!

I rented this movie and instead of the 1995 movie with the sign language gorilla, I get a 2011 documentary narrated by morgan freeman about orphan elephants and orangatangs.. - which wasn't bad but it wasn't what I thought I was going to see.

I thought this movie was made really well. This has been the greatest family movie I have ever seen. It had me laughing and crying at the same time. This is a film that the whole family can enjoy from 0 to 99 years old. And I believe that your whole family will love this movie and watch it everyday like I do.

I really liked this movie it is very well done I saw it in my boarding school and When we were watching this movie Some boys from Our class come for a sleep over(they slept in the boys corridor) and I cried three time and one boy teased me because he saw me cry all three times and he thought I was very sentimantal about things. I cried because I am an animal lover and I don't like very sad animal movies but my friend told me it was good so I saw it I did like it alot. I recomend thid movie to any age.

Better than I thought it would be. Katie the gorilla has a mind of her own. You will laugh so hard you can't see. Katie teaches a 14 yr old boy Named Rick how to love and to be loved. He was committed to community service work after getting into all kinds of trouble. His father just up and left Rick and his mother. Rick got bullied at school and always got in trouble with the law. Then his mother, the scientist, introduced Rick to Katie. Katie mocked him at first, but then Rick and Katie the Gorilla became really close and were best friends. Rick had to learn to sign again so he could communicate with Katie the gorilla.

Then the unthinkable happens, Katie was to replace a caged displayed gorilla which was abused. Rick is furious with his mother and goes to save Katie himself. Man did Katie have fun on the run to Canada.

Rick saved Katie's life.

Very funny family movie. So glad we bought it. It was hilarious.

Highly recommended as a purchase.

Enjoy! Popcorn ready??

This movie was made for everybody likes comedy. There are no boring parts at all. It is a bit sad at the end but not very sad. It is half sad half happy at the end. Every minute of this is entertaining. Buy this and enjoy.

The critics that put this movie down have no sensitivity. Movies are make believe. We know we don't wrestle with wildlife except in movies. But That is what so many movies are about, imagination.

The story is touching. Entertaining. Well made. The kid is great. The gorilla makes us feel their plight and using animatronics is a great tool. While we are being entertained, we are also being shown that wild animals are exploited and treated inhumanely.

It's a sweet touching film that had us laughing or crying with happiness for the good ending. Always engaged. Even with some supporting cast's slapstick acting, I highly recommend this as a good family film.
