4.0 out of 5 stars Work well with the Born Free Bottles
These brushes come as a set--as most bottle brushes do: one brush for the bottle and one for the nipple.
Overall, they get the job done quicker than other brushes on your Born Free bottles.
We used the Dr. Brown's and Munchkin brushes prior to switching to these and I found that these brushes probably cut my wash time by 10-33%.

These all-sponge...

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible - stick to regular brushes ...
These are fine if you clean one bottle a day. They just can't hold up to regular use. The nipple brush is OK - but it goes pretty quick too. The bottle brush just simply wouldn't get the bottles clean. Spend the money on a munchkin bottle brush ....

1.0 out of 5 stars They fall apart fast, November 2, 2007

I bought these to clean my Born Free bottles. The first day they were great. The second day both brushes fell apart. Poor design. Get different brushes.

We used the Dr. Brown's and Munchkin brushes prior to switching to these and I found that these brushes probably cut my wash time by 10-33%.

These all-sponge ended brushes don't scratch the bottles or nipple--as some other brushes might. This is somewhat of an issue for the silicone parts of the Born Free bottles, as a bristly brush might actually poke or tear the silicone, resulting in leakage.

In any event, the only downside to an all-sponge ended brush is that the sponges don't last terribly long--maybe 2 months (and I use them until they're useless). Then again, I'm pretty hard on my brushes since I clean all the bottles nearly every night.

Further, the larger brush doesn't clean smaller sized bottles (like your Medela pump bottles), so you might spend some time using the smaller brush cleaning them.

I recommend these brushes for your Born Free bottles. Best of luck on taking care of your little one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect1, May 2, 2008

I like it because it won't scratch my bottles, and the nipple brush REALLY clean the pore of the nipple without breaking it! Who cares if it lasts 2-3 months (I've had it a week now)...You should replace those things anyways with all the bacteria that will grow in sponges. I had the Munchkin one and it scracthed and the nipple brush was poorly designed- I prefer this one 100%

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets bottle sparkling, August 18, 2011

If you have Born Free or Dr Brown's bottles this is the brush for you! Gets into all those crevices that the Munchkin brush won't. Also has a seperate nipple brush that cleans the wide nipples perfect. Sure, it's sponge & will wear down, so I have to replace every 4 weeks. For $8. That is fine with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best brush on Earth, April 19, 2011

Most of the negative reviews here touch on how these brushes don't last long. And I agree 100 percent. But come on, folks. $8 every month or two is too much to spend on a brush? The pros on the Born Free brush outweighs the one negative by miles. The design of this brush is the best I've ever seen. The swiveling action makes cleaning easy and fun. And with the large size of the sponge head, you can FEEL the bottle is being cleaned better than a when using a bristle brush. The nipple cleaner is just as good as the bottle brush. All nipple cleaners like the one coupled with the OXO brush, or the munchkin bristle ones are worthless and damage nipples. The Born Free brush is ugly, it doesn't last as long as a bristle brush and it's also THE BEST BOTTLE BRUSH ON EARTH!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very sturdy, December 31, 2009

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, this sponge starts tearing off after some vigorous bottle cleaning. Mine is still hanging on but I'm being careful with it until I can find a replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Born Free Brushes, September 16, 2008
This review is from: Born Free Twister Brushes (Baby Product)
I am buying my second set. Mine started to fall apart after over 6 months of use (which is probably too long to keep one of these things) and it's by far, the best brush I've used. And I've tried them all.

1.0 out of 5 stars interesting design, but doesn't hold up, August 19, 2008
This review is from: Born Free Twister Brushes (Baby Product)
Pros:
+ Twist action is interesting
+ No bristles mean no scratching of bottles

Cons:
- Bottle brush is falling apart after just 4 mths for a nursing baby (e.g., not that many bottles!) and the foam section of bottle brush is so wide that it's practically unusable with other brands
- Expensive, especially when you consider how quickly they need to be replaced
- Nipple brush is poorly designed; when inserted into the nipple, the foam slides off to the side leaving just the plastic handle

Bottom line: Don't buy.
Instead: Head to your grocery store's dishwashing aisle and look for a handled scrubby designed for cleaning stemware. It'll be a little wide most likely, but for only $2 you can trim to fit your brand and it'll hold up a lot longer!

4.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it, January 25, 2012

I love this 2-pack of bottle sponges. I use another brand of bottle (not "Born Free" wide mouth) and actually trim the large sponge down on the sides to more easily fit into a standard size bottle. The twisting action makes it quick and easy to clean. I like the little brush for nipples. Only problem is the sponge can get ripped where the plastic clamps around it. Wish they'd sell replacement sponges - but then they'd only get $2 instead of $10. The large sponge will last me about 1 year until it is so ripped up and raggedy I need another.
