Roberts's second installment in her Born In trilogy (after Born in Fire) takes the reader back to Ireland, where Brianna Concannon uncovers some unexpected and disturbing details about her deceased father. While trying to turn the attic of her bed-and-breakfast into another guest room, Brianna finds a stock certificate from a nonexistent company called Triquarter Mining?no great surprise, as the elder Concannon had always had a weakness for worthless ventures. More surprising is a set of old, passionate love letters written to her father 28 years before by a woman who was not Brianna's mother. What? So Nora Roberts wants us to think that an attractive man is one with an average build, a good sense of humor, lots of imagination, and plenty of maturity?

So Nora Roberts wants us to think that an attractive woman is one with an average body, huge sense of loyalty, a high work ethic, and plenty of maturity?

So Nora Roberts wants us to think that it's romantic for a man to hide in the bathroom so he can spend the night in his love's hospital room? For a man to bribe his love's mother with a gift. To think of his love's feelings before his own.

So Nora Roberts wants us to think its romantic for a woman to wear conservative clothes, make a house a home, and tell the man she loves honestly how she feels about him.

"Born in Ice" is the second book in Nora Roberts' exceptional "Born in" trilogy. The writing in this book is first rate and the story will have you enchanted.
Brianna Concannon, sister of Maggie, whose story was told in the first book, is a sweet, giving and selfless person. But in this story we get to see the strong and fiercely loyal woman beneath this soft exterior.
When best-selling mystery novelist Grayson Thane arrives at Brianna's B&B he stirs all kinds of desires inside her. Grayson feels drawn to this lovely and compelling woman and the relationship that develops between these two is moving and delightful!
Grayson is a wonderful hero who all readers will love. His impressions of Ireland as he sees it for the first time give the reader a perfect picture of this hauntingly beautiful country.
As Brianna and Grayson fall in love, Grayson, a man who has never had the need or desire to put down roots, begins to wish for a home and a family as he never has before. In the end, Grayson must choose between the life he knows and is content with and the love he feels for Brianna. This story will touch your heart.
I highly recommend this book and the other two in the trilogy. Although I am a fan of all of NR's work, I really believe that this trilogy is one of her very best. So read it today!

Brianna Concannon is a woman who hates conflict. She spent so much of her life trying to keep peace in her family that she just wants a quiet existence. After being left right before her wedding, she now owns a bed and breakfast deciding to cater to the needs of others. Brianna is an artist in her own right being a whiz in the kitchen, and garden, but yet maintains complete control over everything including her emotions.

Grayson Thane is a very popular writer inspired with the surrounding town. He decides to make the small inn his temporary residence until his new book is finished. Grayson had a terrible childhood and avoids relationships and commitment on any level. When Grayson and Brianna meet, it is bringing together two damaged lost souls.

Grayson and Brianna didn't seem to be a very interesting couple. It was more a meeting of the timid. She is portrayed as a saint image, and he more a little lost boy. It didn't made for very interesting interaction.
