CLASSIC!!!!,
By 62nd assasin (Vegas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Born Invincible (DVD)
Born Invincible must be the most underrated kung fu flick. Kung fu fans never mention this one with the other great classics. This movie is a true old school classic. It has "great fighting" scenes..many of them. It is hilarious. You will laugh every time you hear Carter Wong (who is the tai chi master) speak. Years of training tai chi made his hair white and voice high pitch. He also laughs every time he kills someone. Born invincible has every thing you like in old school kung fu... easily 5 STARS!!!!$ well spend!

Born Invincible with Master Lo Lieh (5 Fingers of Death) and Master Carter Wong (18 Bronze Men) was Superb! This movie had you rooting for the bad guys (Lieh and Wong) because they were so highly skilled. A Must See for any true fan. Wong was absolutely incredible. The footwork and style was first rate. Rivals Master Lui Chia Hui and Jet Li's technique.

An epic martail arts piece!!,

Carter Wong is amazing as the invincible Tai Chi master. He wallops all his opponents, and as if that was not enough, he draws a symbol with his leg when fighting. Lo Lieh is his colleague and they are trying to wipe out a martial arts school led by Jack Long & Mark Long. The fight scenes were quite decent, but I did not like the way it ended. The good guys were by far no match for the bad guys. This is definitely a movie to keep for any wutang afficionado. Also check out Carter Wong in 18 bronzemen.

I watched this movie during the 80s in old cinemas,it's one of the best kung fu movies I ever watched, Carter wong is superb with his tai chi technique, Lohlie also, but I kind of not like his sword he attack his opponent with, the ending also, wong is a great fighter I doubt if he wasn't aware that his opponent might hit him on his throat.the movie has fighting scenes from the begining to the end,its a must for every kung fu fan.I rate this movie 5 out of 5, pls customers buy it, u wont regret. bye.

The Best Kung Fu Movie Ever,

This review is from: Born Invincible / Martial Masters Collection (DVD)
In my opinion this is the best Martial Arts movie ever made. Carter Wong, Lo Lieh, Mark Long & Jack Long are all absolutely superb. The action sequences are brilliant and it actually has a very good story. A true masterpiece, memorable and unforgettable. I thoroughly recommend it to fans of the Kung Fu genre. A must see. The final battle between Carter Wong and Mark Long is an absolute classic.

Another Classic From Joseph Kuo!,
This review is from: Born Invincible / Martial Masters Collection (DVD)
Born Invincible is just one of those movies that you know is going to be interesting. The beginning of the movie is proof enough that you are truly in for a treat. The battle between the Hei-Pai killers and the school uncle is one of the most exciting demonstrations of weapon fighting since Master Killer.
True fans will fall in love with Carter Wong's Tai-Chi style Kung-Fu. The near invincibility of the Taichi style leaves our heroes Mark and Jack Long in a seriuous quandry: Find his weakness, or die. Fortunately, The Taichi master has one glaring flaw in his technique. Can the heroes live long enough to exploit it? You'll have to buy the movie to find out. But I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

funny thing is , that carter wong always playes the hero in all his movies .Apart from this where he is probably one of the best baddies ever to be ion a kung fu movie . Along with him the other bad guy is the top notch actor lo leigh . Leaving the lung brothers as the heroes. So the top actors are indeed the bad guys in this movie , they are menacing and unbeatable due to mastering tai chi style kung fu . The school who are under threat try to revenge their masters death , but all fail apart from one. Great action[yuen wo ping] and brilliant plot. The movie might drag on at times , but the last fight scene is fullfilling.

This a kung-fu classic,

While i won't give it more than a three star rating , it's definitely a kung-fu classic , the stars in this martial arts adventure aren't as skillful as stars like Samo hung ,jackie chan , gordon lui chia hui, joesph kuo, Lo leih , john lui and the shaw brother cast, none the less this was a well executed story along the triditional "i will get revenge for my master you bastard" kung -fu stories.
The action was great and i must say this is the best i have ever seen Carter wong (by now you should realize i am not a fan of his) for the true martial collector this is great piece to add to your collection , however i advise you to buy Fist of the white lotus and the invinsible amour , The kid with the golden arm and The magnificent ruffians, i am a collector these are a must have to your invincibility collection, laterz folks enjoy not getting cut laters.

Lots of choppy editing mars an otherwise worthwhile film.,
This review is from: Born Invincible / Martial Masters Collection (DVD)
This film features some great talent ranging from director Joseph Kuo to action brothers Jack and Mark Long to Carter Wong in one of his more memorable roles. "But still..." there is AN AWFUL LOT OF CHOPPY EDITING during the fight scenes that really mars the film. This type of jump cutting (the pulling out of frames to speed up the action) is very distracting, and one would think completely unneccessary considering the cast involved. It's a shame, as this could have been one of the all-time greats, but the editing flaws simply cannot be ignored. As it is, the characters and story, along with some untampered action, balance things out just enough to still make BORN INVINCIBLE a pretty entertaining martial arts movie. In fact some still do consider it a classic. Maybe, you'll be one of them. Recommended-flaws and all.

Oops.,
This review is from: Born Invincible / Martial Masters Collection (DVD)
I mistook this for another one of those "invincible white monk villain with the single weak spot" movies. It was not the one I was looking for, but it was ok, not outstanding like one of the old Gordon Liu or Venoms stories. I'm sure it was really good in its time. Ok picture quality. Ok DVD bonus features. Trailer is awesome.
