Book Description

July 2004
I was a love child. Born out of wedlock to a mother who already had five too many children, too little money, and an exile husband who provided no support and left no forwarding address.

I grew up in a project on the south side of St. Petersburg, Florida. Times were hard for my mother as she did her best to support the children she loved so dearly. As the youngest of the six children, I put more emphasis on having fun rather than on the hard times. Being a love child, my good times usually involved playing with the girls.

The one advantage of living in the projects is the abundance of young honeys, and we all know that the best sex is in the ghetto.

I hop-scotched from one girl to the next trying to screw all that met my standard of good looking and fine. I didn't want a relationship, just raw sex—and I was willing to do or say anything to get the drawers.

About the Author

Johnny Archer was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on February 1, 1950—the youngest of six children in a family of four girls and two boys. He grew up in the projects of Jordan Park, which he credits for his will to survive. He graduated from Gibbs Senior High School in 1968, then attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) where, in 1972, he received a B.S. degree in mathematics.

He worked for Honeywell Aerospace, Inc. in St. Petersburg as a data base assistant. After 14 years of being in the industry with various companies, he decided he had had enough of the bureaucracy that at times was less than fair for black engineers.

In 1986, he started a construction company specializing in custom houses and small commercial projects. In 1996, he added a roofing company under the umbrella of his construction company; which today is a successful small business.

This is the author's first novel and one that he is very proud of since writing was his worst subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest, Entertaining, Sexy, July 20, 2004
By
This review is from: Born to Lust (Paperback)
I was fortunate enough to get a copy of this book and I must say it is one of the best books I have read this year. I have never written a review for a book until now, and feel I have to on this great new author. This book was entertaining, funny, sad and a delight to read. I felt like I knew Johnny and went to school and lived in his neighborhood. It is a journey through his young life to college you will not want to miss. He has a hard time quenching his thirst for sex and women....finally he finds true love and life is on the right track, then to his surprise things change and he does not understand why..will he try at love agian, or go back to the numerous women he sexed in the past, and add more to his stable...This book kept me wanting for more..

I cannot wait to find out what happens to Johnny as he becomes an adult..This book is a must read!!!! Part 2 can not be soon enough for me..I know we will all be waiting for his future stories, This is an author to put on your to buy list.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Chronicles of Life in Jordan Park, the Projects, July 15, 2004
This review is from: Born to Lust (Paperback)
It provides a true prospective of the non-criminal aspects of Project life. It was all-good. I too, grew up in Jordan Park and have experiences quite similar. I'd like to think I was smooth.

There was a meaning in the behavior of the girls and women in our lives that may not be apparent in the book. They were looking for supporters and candidate life-long mates. I went back a few years ago and was surprised to hear that perspective from women. Some of them are still bitter at me and were very critical, and among other things - reminded me that I did not marry them.

About the book: It is an "easy read, and fun" book. If you are over 18, read it!

4.0 out of 5 stars You needed to turn it over, July 19, 2004
This review is from: Born to Lust (Paperback)
Because of Johnny's refusal to turn his problems over to the Most High, he not only endured quite alot of pain but caused alot of chaos. The different emotions illustrated were touching, I cried for certain parts, I laughed for certain parts and I was cussing Johnny for the most part(calling him every name in the book). I tried not to feel sorry for him, but I have to admit my soft part got the best of me when he got dumped by Chinadoll(which he deserved). The scene with him walking home (after being dumped)in his salt & pepper outfit brought tears to my eyes, as well as a wide smile to my mouth as I pictured his sorry look (smile).

The sex scenes left nothing for the imagination (should be able to help someone out) as it was all put out there.

I hate to be left hanging, but I guess I just have to wait for book 2.

The book in itself is a great read (recommended for 18+)
