4.0 out of 5 stars son seeking redemption, September 22, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to know people like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Luther Allison and all the other usual suspects.

I've known Chris (he is my little brother) since he learned to play 'Green Onions' as a child. His father and I go back many years...like when Son House was a next door neighbor to Joe and his family.

Chris has his roots in the blues...no doubt...as Muddy or Luther or some other soul wandered through their house.

Chris can play straight blues. Just as a John Mooney can (who also learned from Joe and Son House). But Chris is now into this Michael Hill/Hendrix phase, where flash and stuff are poured on, and it gets a little bit much.

Good album, but Chris has to think a little about where he's going.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes he was born to play!, January 20, 2003
This review is from: Born to Play the Blues (Audio CD)
I liked this Cd.. it had a few of Chris' older songs on it with an updated sound. more like studio sound. I did see him live in Cleveland,OH and I also have one of his live Cd's that I bought from him personally. which is great!
I think he sounds better live, but this cd is good to add to your collection.
