After visiting the Bronze Age archeological site of Gournia on Crete, I just had to learn more about the young American female archeologist who excavated it in the early 1900's. Written by Harriet Boyd's daughter and edited by her granddaughter, this book delivers a personal glimpse into her life as pioneer archeologist, battlefield nurse and political activist. Very enjoyable.
