Book Description

When Nick wants to go on an adventure and Sally wants to go swimming, the Cat in the Hat knows where they can do both—alongside Salmon Sam on her incredible journey up the Swirly Whirly River! Shrunk to the size of salmon and swimming in scuba gear, the Cat and kids join Sam as she swims against the current, jumps up waterfalls, and avoids being eaten by a grizzly bear in her quest to return to the pool of water where she was born to lay her eggs. This Little Golden Book is fine fishy fun for reading on a summer day, and at only $3.99—it's almost as incredible as Sam's journey!

3.0 out of 5 stars Three-and-a-half stars - short but educational November 17, 2012

Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
We got a bunch of four dollar Cat in the Hat books of various formats as party favors for my son's 4th birthday party. This was one of three hard-bound Golden book formats available at the time (I think more are due in 2013). As you might expect, the hard-bound books are shorter than the paperback books in the same price range. This book is more educational and has a better story than The Thinga-ma-jigger is Coming Today! (Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat) (CITH Knows a Lot About That). To me, however, it is a step below Bamboozled (Dr. Seuss/Cat in the Hat) (Little Golden Book).

The printing/ font is far too small and I have not been able to enlarge it. Quite disappointing for early years stories.

I laughed when I finally got this! I thought it was about healthy running for my second graders. I then realized it was about salmon. :) Still a good point to bring to kids.
