5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic number
It's a fantastic number,i know from i was 3 years old.I called it a "doef-doef-muziekske"(boom-boom-music).I'm sorry if my English isn't good,i'm a Belgian kid.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars 2 good songs
Let me get straight to the point. All the songs except for 2 are pretty weak, and you most likely will never listen to them. The reason to buy this single would be for Born Slippy and Dark Train. That is the reason I gave it 3 stars. But Born Slippy and Dark Train are incredible songs. So the question is, would you be willing to get this CD for only 2 songs? Unless...

5.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet, December 10, 2002
This review is from: Born Slippy (Audio CD)
While I don't own this, I've heard all of what's on here. And based on the single alone, the Born Slippy single is worth every penny. Basically this little CD contains Underworld's well known classic. Actually this little beauty was my first exposure into Underworld and what got me hooked. In truth, Born Slippy is a pretty simple song. A simple synth riff play wrapped around Karl Hyde's staccato delivery with his patanted stream of conciousness lyrics. Added later into the song is bass heavy beat that in of itself holds most of the song till its climax and ending. Born Slippy as whole shows Underworld's skill as producers and song writers, knowing how to hook a listener with something so simple but something so incredible. Essential for any techno and Underworld fan.

so i just purchased my second born slippy single,i lost the first one at the gym and had to drive 20 miles to get the other, dammit....it is so great!!! if you enjoy really great trance music that keeps going, and going and coming down and going, especially while you work out this is it!! the original born slippy is exciting too yes..but 2. nuxx (deep pan), is so wonderful, and 100% different, as is the dark + long (dark train) version...if you run or walk a treadmill get it, burn it whatever;) and tell me is it not great to get pumped on!!

5.0 out of 5 stars mind-blowing for a single..., April 27, 2002

Woo-hoo!!! This particular single of Underworld's is probably the best I've heard so far. The second track (the "Deep Pan" remix) is probably the most intense track on the album. It's just screaming to be in a movie also (much like Dark + Long, which as everyone has mentioned here, was used in "Trainspotting".) Darren Price, another very fine electronic artist, with his two remixes on this single, just underscores the whole beauty of this album. In other words, a very good EP, I highly recommend picking this album up if you have the means, to paraphrase Ferris Bueller :).

5.0 out of 5 stars the bounciest, trippingest track on pressed aluminum, ever, October 25, 2000
This review is from: Born Slippy (Audio CD)
I'm an Underworld fan, but this song is the one that seduced me first. and no doubt about it... it was an aural seduction. =) pop this baby in and transport yourself to a world of boundless energy and hypnotic synth chords with the right touch of melancholy laid over a catchy pounding bass line. the remixes are decent, too

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this song! Everyone should listen to this song!, December 4, 1999

In my opinion, this is one of the best rave songs out there right now! The song is so cool. It first starts off really slow but then it picks up and gets and gets faster. By the end of the song, it is pulsating with rhythm. I love this song so much that I have basically forced a lot of my friends to listen to this song and they it is really awesome too. Go out and buy this song!

5.0 out of 5 stars prepare yourself, January 6, 2004

Being a raver I was naturally drawn to "Born Slippy". It is quite simply a rave ANTHEM. It is THE if not one of the most recognized electronic songs. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why it's an instant favorite maybe it's just the speed and energy of it all. It's a rush, a very confident and honest rush.

So what exactly is he saying?? Is it just a stream of consciousness?? To me it sounds like Karl Hyde is singing of a boy that dresses in drag who he happens to like. Whatever it is about it is my anthem of choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece!, October 5, 2005

This is one of the best singles of the 90's. All the remixes are top notch and excellent!! If you've seen Trainspotting then you probably heard the 2 versions in the film. It has been rereleased recently but these remixes are still the best ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a good dance song!, November 27, 2001
This review is from: Born Slippy (Audio CD)
For those who don't know, this song first appeared in the soundtrack of the British movie, Trainspotting. It was the musical highlight of the movie, and also one of the best dance songs I've heard in a long time. It's a real pity that it wasn't part of their 'Second Toughest in the Infants' album, which is, in my opinion, one of the best electronica albums ever. But the two, this maxi-single and the album, do go hand in hand. You can't go wrong: get 'em both and enjoy the trance...
