Excellent variety of remixes for new Crystal Method track.,
By
This review is from: Born Too Slow (Audio CD)
This is the latest remixes for the legendary dance act The Crystal Method. This single features a different type of remixes for the more adventureous dance fan. The mixes range from really aggressive house to a a mixture of electro/freestyle. The vocals are by John Garcia and he sounds like AC/DC or some heavy metal vocalist doing dance music-weird but really interesting. These are the mixes:1- Erick Morillo Main Mix (7:03) 2- Erick Morillo Dub Mix (7:03)--both mixes very aggressive house. 3- Deepsky's Green Absinthe Dub Mix(8:12)

OK,

To be honest I must say i was a bit disappointed - the morillo remix is in my opinion not quite up to the standards that he has set in the past. None of the remixes sound too close to the original - each sounds very different, so for those who are used to borland's guitar riff will find that the central sound no longer revolves around that. I would say that my favorite one would be the EK spider or NuBreed mix. It's only a few bucks, so i think it's worth it for the fans. Those who aren't should stick to the legion of boom album itself - born too slow, wide open, and the highlight, weapons of mass destruction, are definitely more satisfying.

this is not the album with the track born too slow. this is the album born too slow. it's just several different remixes of the same song -born too slow-.
it's all fine and good if you're buying it for what it is. but if you're dumb like me and you think it's the actual album you are mistaken. only buy this if you want several different mixes of the same song.

In 1997, The Crystal Method become the new leaders of the electronic music with their debut album: Vegas. Since then, nothing has changed. No reason to hurry, came back for more in 2001 with "Tweekend". Their music couldn't missed from the clubs and from many-many motion picture soundtracks (and from my home). And after more than one year work, the new album will explode on January 13, 2004, called: "Legion of boom". Till then, they released a CD-Single, which proves the quality of the whole new album for me. The "Born too slow" tune can be found on the legendary game series latest part: Need for speed - Underground.

Well, ever since their first album The Crystal Method has sold records on pure hype. I saw them twice on tour, and both shows were almost the same performance with MINOR tweaks... It goes to show every album has a niche or one cool sound that is promenant throughout the album... It's too little too late. The album reminds me of the old booty bass discs that people used to blast to show off the stereo's bass in their cars. The cd is a bore after one listen through....notice the low price you can buy it for and where you can find it in bargain bins. |
