It doesn't come with instructions but as the other reviewers have stated there's a plastic sleeve that you can pull down and rotate to quickly loosen and tighten the chuck, then use the included chuck key to finish it up and you're ready to go!
In use in concrete it's been great and works exactly as you would expect.
*SDS+, is a standard used by many manufacturers, so accessories and bits are interchangeable, SDS and SDS+ are compatible (although plain SDS bits are pretty much no longer available) and SDS MAX is a larger size with a different groove pattern and is not compatible with SDS or SDS+.
You can hammerdrill with this 3 jaw chuck, for example the bits that come with the blue Tapcon screws, but I prefer sds bits with the 5/16" hex shank for drive sleeves, it is faster to use and a much stronger grip on the drill bit.
My 3 jaw sds chuck did not come with a manual but I figured out that if you pull the collar down and to the left you can quickly and quietly adust the jaws, I dont know what that is about but Bosch has put it so there must be a reason.
I turn my Bosch Bulldog into a drill when I play the uncharged cordless battery game. Sometimes its even handy to use alongside the cordless drill driver.
I had to get used to the rubber boot over the jaws, but really you just push the drill bit through the rubber boot and tighten with the chuck key (all 3 holes for a good grip)
I just learned that SDS means slotted drive system.
I am in the process of demoing my master bath and decided to buy a Bosch 11224VSRKR 7/8-Inch SDS Rotary Hammer with a chisel bit to take out some of the tile on the floor.
I needed to drill some large holes in the 2 x 4 for the new plumbing and need a 1/2 chuck for these large drill bits.
This chuck is a beast. It is also nice that it has a clutch so you don't hurt yourself.
I would easily recommend this seller to other buyers.

Ok, this works, acts like a regular drill chuck...may not be the right term but it works.Published 2 months ago by Rudi
Worked very well and the bits fit in and don't come loose very easily. Would buy again.Published 4 months ago by Fonz
I used this with a Tapcon drillbit. Worked like a champ! Held the bit, no slipping, no need to retighten for the 5 holes I needed to drill into concrete, and no problems at all.Published 5 months ago by Mike B.
