Bosch's 24-volt reciprocating saw provides plenty of heavy-duty cutting power without the leash. Its 0 to 2,300 spm speed ranks it with many corded reciprocating saws in raw cutting speed. The saw features tool-free blade changing and shoe adjustments. The stroke length can be switched from 3/4 inch for precision plunge cuts to 1-1/4 inch for faster cuts. As with all its 24-volt tools, Bosch gives this reciprocating saw a comfortable rubber grip. For a reciprocating saw, this model is relatively easy on the arms, and for a cordless model, its power can't be beat. Contributing to the speed of the Bosch 1645K reciprocating saw is the aggressive 1-1/4-inch stroke that removes more cutting debris than shorter strokes. Conversely, the 3/4-inch stroke length cuts with reduced vibration, facilitating precision and plunge cuts, in addition to cuts in thinner material. Pressing a button allows the tilt-back foot assembly to move forward or back to one of three positions, which adds to the saw's versatile depth-of-cut control and extends the blade life by making it easier to use different sections of teeth. In addition, the saw features the Bosch tool-free blade-change system, which makes blade changes easy even with gloves on, saving you time. Other features include a soft-grip handle and rubber boot that absorb vibration--with the boot shaped for gripping--in underhand or overhand positions. The saw works at 2,300 strokes per minute. Includes two saw blades, two platinum batteries, one-hour charger, and case.

In just two weeks I've used this tool more than I thought it would be used. It's just too handy. It is handier than having pockets on your shirt. Too many times we need to get the recip saw out, and then drag a cord all the way over to the job, and then make the cut, and then drag the cord back to where we found it. What a hassle!

To quote Roberto Duran, "No mas" or no more.

The blade clamp does not use a tool, but you better make sure that the blade is fully inserted and locked down or surprise! Down on the floor it'll go.

This cordless reciprocating saw seems to have as much power as some corded saws. It works great for jobs where I don't want to run an extension cord. It has selection for two different stroke lengths. Quick release for changing blades. The Bosch 1645K 24V saw has a great balance of power, durability, weight, comfort & convience.

I got mine when Bosch first ran their free tool promo a few years back and it's been one of my favorite tools. No cords, no hassles. It has a good runtime and has plenty of power. The toolless blade change is great and the dual stroke is nice for when you need to be more/less aggessive. With two batteries and a one hour charger, you won't run out of power. It may never replace a corded recip saw for extreme use, but a corded saw will never be as handy as this saw
