4.0 out of 5 stars It works, and is identical to the planer-attachment
I have seen and used this. It is identical to and interchangeable with the attachment that comes with the Bosch electric planer. The planer kit came with the attachment, so I did not have to buy an extra fence for the sander. You can save yourself some money if you are planning to get both tools.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality for Bosch
This fence appears to be flimsy. I use the term "appears to be" for good reason--it was packed with no instructions (and none are available from Bosch's web site or by phoning or emailing). Based on the illustration I can infer that the bolt packed with my unit is too short for its intended use. Even if it assembled correctly, there's only one attachment point and that...

This review is from: Bosch 2607001079 Sanding Fence for 1274DVS Belt Sander (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have seen and used this. It is identical to and interchangeable with the attachment that comes with the Bosch electric planer. The planer kit came with the attachment, so I did not have to buy an extra fence for the sander. You can save yourself some money if you are planning to get both tools.

Function: It works, is easy-to-adjust and is accurate for 90 and 45 degree cuts. Any other angle would require some fussing to get perfect. (If you need a special angle, it's easier to make an auxiliary fence and attach it to the fence in the 90-degree setting.) I have however been able to get very accurate odd-angles by using a TS aligner to adjust this. In case you don't know already, The TS aligner is the best tool for adjusting ANY tool that requires accurate angles. And the ts aligner jr. costs less than a set of high-quality squares.

The fence is attached by a single threaded rod, tightened with a plastic-knob. That's marginal. The fence would be a lot better if it was designed with TWO screws instead of one. As it is, it works fine, provided you do not use too much lateral pressure. Power planers require a light touch anyway, so that usually is not a problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars bosch belt sander fence & bench mount, July 12, 2007

This review is from: Bosch 2607001079 Sanding Fence for 1274DVS Belt Sander (Tools & Home Improvement)
These accessories are very useful additions to this belt sander allowing the user to bench mount the sander with the belt horizontal or vertical to guide narrow edges or small work-pieces for finish (or other) sanding. Excellent for sanding shoe-molding or baseboard returns flush with the back edge. I can't believe how useful this versatile belt sander is - I waited WAY TOO LONG to purchase this excellent tool. It could have saved me many hours of hand sanding!

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality for Bosch, March 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bosch 2607001079 Sanding Fence for 1274DVS Belt Sander (Tools & Home Improvement)
This fence appears to be flimsy. I use the term "appears to be" for good reason--it was packed with no instructions (and none are available from Bosch's web site or by phoning or emailing). Based on the illustration I can infer that the bolt packed with my unit is too short for its intended use. Even if it assembled correctly, there's only one attachment point and that would probably be too inaccurate for precision work--I can do just as well freehand. Altogether not up to Bosch's normally fine standards. This one is going back.

PS: I love the 1274DVS belt sander, and have used it for years.

PPS: after a week I finally was sent the instruction sheet. Too late--my need for this part has passed, and all my other points still stand (see above.)
