5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight but heavy duty, March 11, 2006
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've been doing construction for twenty years and have used many drills. I was a devoted Dewalt man until I got a hold of this drill. It's very well balanced and is very lightweight. It has great power. The drill is very comfortable and is a pleasure to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best all around drill by a mile, February 17, 2006
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
This drill is perfectly balanced weight, size and power. If you are looking for a drill to do it all and not make your arm fall off by the end of the day this is the one for you.

The high points of this drill are the battery life and warranty (2 year replacement). The low weight(4.2lbs) and compact size. The chuck is one of the best I have ever used. The trigger controll on this drill is very percise and tight. I can't say enough about the great job Bosch did with this fine power tool.

In my handyman van I have a dozen bosch tools, all for good reason. They are for the professional and they hold up accordingly. If you want to be proud of your tools, buy Bosch. As for the 14.4 drill, it's my runaway favorite, in my bucket at virtually every job. I liked it so much I got two. In cordless drills I also have an 18 volt (impact), and a 24 volt as well, but the 14.4 is the workhorse because of it's ideal size. Another plus: it's possibly indestructable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have Drill, November 2, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have used this Bosch drill for a few months now and love it. To go along with the drill I also bought the Clic-Change, hex screwdriver bits, and hex shank drill bits. The Clic-Change makes life a whole lot easier by being able to switch bits quickly. The drill is small enough to fit in places that others can not. Plus, the weight and balance is such that you can drill all day without fatigue. The Bluecore battery charges in just minutes. I have also dropped the drill a couple of times and it hardly has a scratch on it. I also really love the 2 speeds. The first speed is for screws and the higher speed is for drilling holes. The 2 speeds match perfectly to the job. I highly recommend this Bosch drill.

This drill is pleasure to use. It's powerful yet very maneuverable due to it's compact size and light weight. It's perfect for small to medium sized home projects. I considered a 18V drill first but realized 18V was just too big and heavy for my home projects. The batteries take less than an hour to fully charge and last very long for light duty work. I've installed 4 curtains, two towel bars, one towel ring, and one table over one month span with one charge and it's still going. I've yet to use the second battery. Granted, I haven't done any heavy duty work, but the battery life still impresses me.

I consider this drill money well spent and must have in your home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Swiss made, battery japan, parts other countries..solid Drill, April 20, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
First, I will like to clarify the manufacturer country for this Bosch drill as there are misinformations on something that can be clear as day and night. Drill is made in Swiss, batteries in Japan, other parts such as battery charger (China), drill plastic case (USA), and others.

Drill is well balanced, good ergonomic grip, and the chuck clicks tight and easy to change drill bits. ABS plastic housing makes this (probably) unbreakable.

I have now used this drill several times, and it have excellent power, control, and ease of use. The torque control is very good, and the chuck quick change is quick and tight. The battery charge is very fast (30-40 minutes).

You can use this for moderate heavy use. If you are only doing in woodworking cabinet work, light house works (drilling couple holes in the wall to hang pictures, and etc, unscrewing crates), then even the lighter 12v. model will be enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of those I've used, August 10, 2006
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've used DeWalt, Skill, Craftsman and Makita. Wore all of them out (batteries, mostly).

This is the perfect combination of power and size. It gets in to tight spots like cabinets, etc. -And I like the new chuck.

It is an excellent value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bosch 14.4 Volt 3/8 cordless compact drill, September 2, 2006
This review is from: Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I use this drill for light weight drilling into drywall usually at 70 inches or above. I like the power I have and also the light weight of the drill. I wore out 4 batterys in a competitors 12 volt drill in just over one year so I like the two year warrenty in this one. The drill fell out of my drill pouch two times in the first week that I had it and both times went down a flight of stairs and had no damage,(I have since thrown the pouch away and bought a hook which it fits into just perfectly). For my use it is one great drill. The battery charge lasts a lot longer than my old 12 volt one and recharges in half the time.

I was looking for a small but still powerful cordless drill. This little dynamo filled the bill. Its light weight but does a great job for its size. The batteries are long lasting and recharge quickly. It received a best buy rating from Consumer Reports and so far it is living up to its rating.

Okay, I'm a little late to the cordless tool thing, this being my first cordless. The Bosch 3214-2G is everything it claims to be. So far, so good. Lots of power and lots of torque. I particulary like that it is NOT made in China. Having read lots of reviews on different 14.4 cordless drills, I settled on the Bosch. I would recommend the drill, shoot it handled a 4" hole saw w/o trouble.
