THIS PLANER FEELS AND RUNS AS IF IT IS PLUGGED INTO A POWER OUTLET. IT HAS LOTS OF TORQUE AND IS AS SMOOTH AS ANY CORDED PLANER I HAVE EVER USED. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS TOOL, I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING IT AND THE CORDLESS JIGSAW AS WELL. THEY HAVE REPLACE MY CORDED ONES, AND WORK BETTER THAN I HAD EVER EXPECTED. I AM A CARPENTER BY TRADE, AND HAVE USED MANY NAME BRAND TOOLS, BOTH ROUGH AND FINISH TOOLS. THIS PLANER KICKS BUTT.

any time you have a quick plane job, this is the tool. Several times a week I have a door that just needs a little of the top or side. you can put the bag on the planer bring it into the house plane the top or side and you are done with the job. obvisously some door have to come off the hindges, and this will still save time over cords. however, if you have a need for a lot of planeing either have several batteries on hand or use your electrical one. I bought this planer in a kit which is the best way to go.

I use this planer professionally every day. It has changed everything I install for the better. I have tried other brands, and some were O.K. , but the factor that really makes this one the King is the left or right quick change discharge. This makes a huge difference to me in ease of use in the many situations I face, and no other brand offers it. All features and functions are a delight, even the blade change.

this and the jigsaw (both battery and not) are the best of the line in practicality. I use them both constantly.

The blades seem to last for ever and easily switched. And batteries are now on sale cheap here at Amazon (about 40 bucks which is unheard of for 18 volt nicad boschs)

only criticisms are wishes: more rabbiting clearence on one side or the other...but does get down about 3/16's or so. And better chip clearance. Deeper cuts always clog up on both cabled and cordless models. As on the belt sanders, Bosch seems to have a hard time engineering good dust and chip expulsion w/o vacuum (and even w/ vacuum assistance). Also the reversible direction of chip expulsion is a great feature Left or right...but hte plastic turning tube/selector eventually will break as it's always stiff to turn. All the pro's seem to have their's broken as my finally did after 4 yrs.


Otherwise still going strong! No one else seems to offer this sort of product and Bosch is the best in jigsaws and hand planers (except for the minor problems mentioned above.)

A great addition to your Bosch tool line up. Works great and has plenty of power and controls to do a nice job.

I decided to give cordless a try after my old corded planer finally gave out... I mainly use planer's for quick trimming (such as doors or 2x's to get exact fits)... I decided to try this one out after reading the reviews and I can say these reviews were right on... It has power, balance, and precision like the corded versions... I plug my shop vac into the dust extractor and catch just about 90% of all the dust and chips... This is a really powerfull and well built tool... Obviously it may not be suitible for the everyday furniture maker, but if you need something quick and easy to make some fine adjustments to your material, I think you won't be dissapointed with this tool...
