Since we have wooden floors through out, I bought this vacuum cleaner for the rugs. Suction is good and adjustable. This vacuum cleaner is light, easy to carry stairs up and down. The big wheels are a good design feature, it makes it easy to move around when using. I have had it over a year now, and I am still content with this cleaner. The only drawback are the bags, they are not cheap.

This is a fantastic little vacuum cleaner. I was hesitant to purchase it at first due to the lack of information about this product on Amazon compared to the others I was looking at. I have had this a couple of months so far.
The facts (that would have been nice):
The cord is about 17' long which is really no problem with this canister vacuum as the hose and attachment is very long;
It is made in Germany. For others like me that are sick to death of buying poorly made garbage from China, this was the final selling point for me. NOTHING that I have ever bought that has been made in China has lasted very long and is generally very badly and cheaply made. Pay the extra few dollars and get something decently made.
1-year warranty. I was led to believe on other websites that all Bosch small appliances have a 5-year warranty but the warranty with my vacuum clearly states just 1-year.
The vacuum came with the universal floor attachment which has 2 settings for hard floors and carpet. It also came with a furniture/drapes attachment.
I live in an old 2-story 1400 SF house. All the floors are hardwood and tile but I do have a few heavy wool rugs. I also have 2 dogs. The vacuum has worked perfectly on all surfaces and is more than capable of picking up dog hair. It gets right up to the edge and nothing is left behind. Very impressive. The super long hose and attachment enables me to get under all the furniture with ease.
The canister itself is very maneuverable and follows along easily; it has not tipped over once so is well balanced. The wheels do not mark the hardwood.
On a low setting it is very quiet. I tend to have it on a higher setting for the rugs at which point I would say the noise level is better than some vacuums but nothing to write home about.
Yes. Air does blow on you if you stand right over the canister, but really I do not find this an issue and not worth removing a star for.
The bag is extremely easy to remove and replace.
Overall I am very happy with the performance of this vacuum; lets hope it proves to have been built to last.

This is a great stylish little apartment vacuum and it really, really works well. It is quiet and light. I only have to complain about the retractable cord breaking in the second week. I really don't mind, I just wrap it around the vacuum when I am done.

I bought this vacuum for my family for Christmas last year, and so far we have had no problems. It is a COMPACT vacuum, so we have had to change bags once so far... which is not too bad for a small vacuum going to town on all-tile flooring, on a street-side house that collects a lot of road dust. I also buy generic bags that fit this vacuum, $5 for 5 bags on amazon. In reference to a previous commenter, the lower suction functions are for people who want to use less power (thus it's called an "eco" setting, I believe). I personally feel that even at medium setting, suction is powerful enough to do daily cleaning. The attachments are extremely tough and well-made, as expected, and the whole device is very light and maneuverable. I especially like that you can pick it up in one hand and easily vacuum ceiling corners, fans, etc. For smaller homes and especially hard/tile floors, this vacuum is amazing. Only con is that the vent does get a little warm, but this doesn't inhibit suction or performance in any way. Plus, ours is orange, my favorite color!

The best vacuum ever, it is super efficient and also very quiet, works great for floors and carpet, also super lite.
I love love love it.

Just received this and I love it! Our house is mainly hardwood and tile plus we have two inside large dogs. I had previously been using my upright with attachments but it was back-breaking. This vacuum has great suction and I love the fact that I just open the canister and pull out the dust bag when it's full as I have allergies so this will definitely be a benefit for me. The only drawback I can see at this time (and I just finished vacuuming the entire house with this vacuum) is that the cord isn't as long as I would like it to be, but that is very minor.

I just purchased the Bosch compact vacuum. The vacuum is as expected and it decently made except for one huge drawback, the exhaust blows on you while you vacuum. The vent is on top of the vacuum, however the vent itself is angled towards the front of the vacuum, so as you stand in front of the canister vacuuming the exchaust blows directly on you. I just don't understand how this can be designed completely wrong. You would think this is vacuum 050 basic design. Maybe I bought a irregular one.

That to me said okay, almost 200 dollars but its got to be good, right?
WRONG !
This is the most flimsy and junky small canister vacuum I have ever owned.
The on/off button doubles as the suction power button. Stupid design, you push it on and off or turn it to make it suck less powerful.
First of all, who would want less suction power? Its not very powerful at maximum to begin with.
Second of all, the button is junk and after a month its now broken.
I have had a Eureka mighty might that lasted for years and was made 100% better.
I have also had an Electrolux that too lasted for years and was made 100% better.
Both small canister vacuums.
BOSCH, get your act together ! you cannot use your premium name for GARBAGE !!! It will come back to haunt you !

compact, stores with ease and gets job done. Megafilt supertex bags come with the unit are also great.
I own the same class European base model 2000W. it is far superior to this particular unit(1200W) and actually anything else I have seen to be available on the US market.
