Only cons I have is there is no provision to hold spare bits, but that might make it more cumbersome. I suppose I could add my own bit holder.
Batteries and chargers are readily available online from numerous sources if your local tool supplier doesn't carry them. Go for the new BAT 413 if available. More power and better cold weather performance!
Love this tool. It is ideal for driving. Not so much for drilling. But if you like to use two different drills/tools during your work (one for drilling and one for driving ...so that you don't to be constantly changing bits back and forth), then this is the ideal companion for driving purposes. Two speeds (high and low), and with the low speed (higher torque), you can drive 3" screws into wood with no pre-drilling (if pressure treated, then of course it takes more battery power and will therefore drain your battery sooner. 2-1/2" go in quite easily). Adjustable clutch settings. Good LED light. ...just a great tool. So darn light, yet quite powerful. Love it, love it, love it.
I used to use the Bosch 18v Li-ion impact driver quite a bit, but this compact 12v driver has taken its place for most things, for it is just so quiet compared to the loud hammering impact of the the 18v impact driver. But if you need the extra power, then the 18v impact wins hands-down. The 18v impact has tons more power, but I guess I typically just don't need that much power (especially if working with untreated lumber ..but again, the 12v can do it), and therefore like the experience of less noise when working.
