The angle finder measures the exact angle of an existing structure or workpiece, while angle memory stores measurements over repeated uses. The protractor helps you correctly position your workpiece or intended cut line, and the vertical and horizontal spirit levels--accurate to 0.05 degrees--help you keep things properly balanced.
Determine Miter or Bevel Angles with Precision
The DAF220K also features a compound/simple cut calculator that helps you achieve a precise fit each and every time. The calculator's compound feature determines exact miter and bevel angles and has a versatile cut input range of 0-180 degrees. And because the calculator stores measurements (such as crown molding spring angles), you won't have to position the tool every time you use it. Just press a button to display compound miter and bevel cut angles.
The calculator's simple miter cut feature has an input range of 0-220 degrees and calculates the exact miter angle needed for perfectly fitting baseboard, picture frames, and more. Just measure the angle and press the calculator button. It's that easy.
User-Friendly Features
The DAF220K measures angles from 0-220 degrees via a patented motorized sensing system. All measurements are shown on a digital readout that displays on the front and back for easy viewing. And with an angle accuracy of 0.1 degree, you can be sure of your results.
Ideal for use with any miter saw, the DAF220K features on-tool printing for straightforward operation. All tool features are clearly labeled and long-press features are clearly designated. Additionally, compound miter steps are listed right on the tool.
The included 16-inch leg extension has a range of up to 6-3/4 inches to allow you to measure angles in confined areas like stairways, ventilation shafts, and sloped windows.
An added bonus, the included protective carrying case has an internal pocket for leg extension storage and is made with durable thermoformed foam.
The DAF220K is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
What's in the Box
DAF220K, leg extension, hard thermoformed case, and four 'AA' 1.5-volt batteries.

The Bosch Miterfinder Fixed!,

This review is from: Bosch DAF220K Miter finder Digital Angle Finder with Leg Extension and Case (Tools & Home Improvement)
The previous generation of this tool did not have the ability to retain the spring angle for crown, so using the cut calculation functions required re-entering it every time you turned the tool on. This version of the tool corrects that.
This is a multi-purpose tool. Besides complex cut calculation for crown, it functions as a simple (or single) cut measuring device, a digital protractor, and as a spirit level, so for all but circumstances where you really have to have a long level, this folding tool replaces several tools. For the naysayers who say that you can't really use the crown cut calculations, consider this: First, you will have to manually calculate the miter and bevel angles anyway if you're cutting flat. Why not have a tool do it for you? Even if you're sneaking up on the fit, it will save you time in finding the starting angles. And, of course, not all crown can be cut at its spring angle against the fence, nor do all saws have the clearance. The second common complaint is that you can't set fractional angles with much accuracy on a chop saw anyway, so why bother. That rationale went out the window with digital angle setters, which will let you set bevel and miter to 1/10th of a degree and which can be had for less than $50.

I consider myself a serious DIYer, just for reference. I'm sure you read the specs, so no need to re-hash any of that.
If you cut crown molding "upside down and backwards", this tool will give you an accurate corner angle measurement and the miter saw setting with one button push. If you cut crown molding "laying flat" the measurement/calculation capability of the miter finder allows for the accurate miter/bevel setup regardless of the crown molding's actual spring angle and non-square corners. You are no longer limited to the standard detents on your miter saw when cutting on the flat. This tool will allow you to do more interesting tasks like crown molding on a cathedral ceiling. With all of the non-standard changes in direction involved with cathedral ceilings the measurement/calculation of the Bosch miter finder makes the job much easier. No need to measure the angle and use a laptop for miter/bevel calculations. No need for paper miter/bevel tables. Higher priced than the old product, but includes the leg extension and a great case. Also stores your spring angle. If you're cutting complex miters for crown molding or need a very accurate angle measurement tool, this tool will save you time/money. Quality and accuracy are second to none. The fit and finish of this tool are amazing. It only stands to reason that you will obtain a better miter joint if you have better angle measurements and the correct miter/bevel setup for your saw.

I bought this item for my brother for a Christmas gift. He is a building contractor who happens to be building my house at this time and he absolutely loves it. He constantly uses it for measuring the angles of the cuts that he has to make. We have alot of trim and crown molding in the house so it has really come in handy. I know that he would highly recommend it to anyone.
