4 Tools in 1
Designed for professionals, the DAF220K offers 4 Tools in 1--an angle finder, cut calculator, protractor, and level--for tackling a range of trim and verification projects on crown molding, countertops, rooftops, and more.

The angle finder measures the exact angle of an existing structure or workpiece, while angle memory stores measurements over repeated uses. The protractor helps you correctly position your workpiece or intended cut line, and the vertical and horizontal spirit levels--accurate to 0.05 degrees--help you keep things properly balanced.

Determine Miter or Bevel Angles with Precision
The DAF220K also features a compound/simple cut calculator that helps you achieve a precise fit each and every time. The calculator's compound feature determines exact miter and bevel angles and has a versatile cut input range of 0-180 degrees. And because the calculator stores measurements (such as crown molding spring angles), you won't have to position the tool every time you use it. Just press a button to display compound miter and bevel cut angles.

The calculator's simple miter cut feature has an input range of 0-220 degrees and calculates the exact miter angle needed for perfectly fitting baseboard, picture frames, and more. Just measure the angle and press the calculator button. It's that easy.

User-Friendly Features
The DAF220K measures angles from 0-220 degrees via a patented motorized sensing system. All measurements are shown on a digital readout that displays on the front and back for easy viewing. And with an angle accuracy of 0.1 degree, you can be sure of your results.

Ideal for use with any miter saw, the DAF220K features on-tool printing for straightforward operation. All tool features are clearly labeled and long-press features are clearly designated. Additionally, compound miter steps are listed right on the tool.

The included 16-inch leg extension has a range of up to 6-3/4 inches to allow you to measure angles in confined areas like stairways, ventilation shafts, and sloped windows.

An added bonus, the included protective carrying case has an internal pocket for leg extension storage and is made with durable thermoformed foam.

The DAF220K is backed by a three-year limited warranty.

What's in the Box
DAF220K, leg extension, hard thermoformed case, and four 'AA' 1.5-volt batteries.

The previous generation of this tool did not have the ability to retain the spring angle for crown, so using the cut calculation functions required re-entering it every time you turned the tool on. This version of the tool corrects that.

This is a multi-purpose tool. Besides complex cut calculation for crown, it functions as a simple (or single) cut measuring device, a digital protractor, and as a spirit level, so for all but circumstances where you really have to have a long level, this folding tool replaces several tools.

For the naysayers who say that you can't really use the crown cut calculations, consider this: First, you will have to manually calculate the miter and bevel angles anyway if you're cutting flat. Why not have a tool do it for you? Even if you're sneaking up on the fit, it will save you time in finding the starting angles. And, of course, not all crown can be cut at its spring angle against the fence, nor do all saws have the clearance. The second common complaint is that you can't set fractional angles with much accuracy on a chop saw anyway, so why bother. That rationale went out the window with digital angle setters, which will let you set bevel and miter to 1/10th of a degree and which can be had for less than $50.

I have never done carpentry work in my life and took the challenge to cut and install rather complex seven and a half inch crown moulding in our foyer. Because of the size of the crown moulding it had to be cut flat. We have a large foyer with several inside and outside corners which was an anticipated hurdle besides everything else. I did some internet research and came across this device and ordered through amazon. I am glad I did as I really don't know any more convienient and accurate way out there to have the measurements of wall corners (both inside and outside), measurment of crown moulding spring angle with simultaneous read out of the bevel and miter angles at a push of a button. This past weekend, I had cut and dry fitted more than 200 feet of crown without screwing up a single cut. My wife is already complementing how talented I am??? and I cannot wait to show my accomplishment to my friends once the crown get installed in a couple of weeks. Obviously, I could not have done it more easily and successfully without this instrument. Thank you Bosch for making this great product and thank you amazon for an excellent delievery and price, as usual.

P.S. The only con worth mentioning is that if your wall corner is shorter than the size of this device which means less than 16 or 18 inches then this device will not fit to measure the corner accurately. I have larger corners in my foyer so I didn't run into this problem but this is something to keep in my mind. Bosch DAF220K Miter finder Digital Angle Finder with Leg Extension and Case

This is the answer to determining correct miter settings and spring angles for cutting wide crown flat on a compound miter saw! We struggled with poor and expensive miter fittings until we found this angle finder. Large crown moldings can not be held vertically in a typical miter saw. You must have this angle finder to determine the proper spring angle as many poly and mdf crowns are not the usual 38 or 45 spring. We found spring angles of 50 and 60 too. The manufacturer of the moldings could not provide us the spring angles of the crown they sold!! The size of the angle finder provides correct angle measurements in your rooms. We failed when using a cheap angle finder. This is worth every penny and more as you will not have waste and frustration. We highly recommend you buy this if you are a do it yourself or professional installer. Email me if you need further tips.

I have owned this tool since it came out around 10 years ago. I still have my original model which i purchased from a specialty tool company. I checked it the other day and it still measures within one tenth of a degree accuracy. My only complaint with the model I have is that it doesn't retain the spring angle of the crown, and so I'm almost tempted to buy this new model just for that feature. If you are a novice at crown molding, this tool will help. if you are already a seasoned veteran, this tool will make you faster. I know, i have never been beaten at a race installing crown since i started using this tool to figure all the cuts. So long as you can take an accurate length reading, your crown will fit perfectly the first time, every time. This tool is the bomb.

I'm extremely disappointed with Bosch here. I just tried to check a new 7 in rafter angle-square for square, and this Bosch design has let me down. I have a lot of Bosch power tools and measurement devices, and most are incredibly top notch - this unfortunately isn't, though it comes close. As soon as you get out past 2-1/4 in from the elbow, you get into the plastic electronics/battery holder zone, of which most is slightly recessed from the aluminum, and is NOT flush with it (and to make matters worse, the battery compartment lid is actually slightly ABOVE the measurement plane - easily rectified with a flat file when up in the air - after you've masked off the open batteries area, and checking regularly after each few strokes, so you get a truly flat surface). You are left with a very thin 2 mm wide aluminum edge to rest your piece against for the next 7-3/8 in. And then, the outer edge of the aluminum channel they use is offset from that thin 2 mm edge by somewhere between 3 mm close to the elbow. I'd suggest they put the plastic electronics-battery section on the other side, and give you a continuous flat base for your molding workpiece.Putting a machinists square on this and holding it up to the light is revealing here.

This present DAF220K design doesn't give you a continuous flat surface to work with in the area where you need it (but you can fix it).
