excellent and versatile,
Of course you need the Bosch powered hand-saw to use this blade. I discovered it is a very handy problem-solver for a number of situations. It excels at plunge-cutting into wood paneling where a standard reciprocating tool is too coarse and a hand-tool is too slow. While adjusting the height of a custom privacy screen last week, I found a nail with my hand-held saw. The instant I hit it I knew the problem, so I stopped before I damaged the delicate teeth of the hand-saw and got out the Bosch with this blade. It cut through an entire stainless steel deck-screw that was imbedded in the stud lengthwise. Wow! It was easy! This blade and the Bosch saw neatly fixed an otherwise nightmarish problem in seconds. Any other tool would have taken forever or made a mess of the job, and a circular saw would have been far too dangerous. The saw with this blade is useful for plumbing, electrical conduit, drywall, paneling, flush-trimming... all sorts of tasks. I didn't realize how versatile the tool was until I had it in my box. Once you have it, you will find yourself reaching for it more and more often.

The best blade for this saw,

I'm not a huge fan of the Bosch FineCut saw. I've found it has a couple things it is really good at, but it is not all that versatile. For the smaller work I find it useful for, however, the 20 TPI blade is the smoothest and most useful. The blades are find in soft wood but I slagged mine trimming some oak flooring. Once the temper was lost (by heating up during cutting), the teeth were quickly worn away to nothing. Yes, I was being impatient but aren't power tools for impatient people? If I was infinitely patient, I would have been using a hand saw! |
