The GPL5E offers limitless uses, everything from plumbing up floors and ceilings to installing drywall partitions and establishing benchmarks. And because it can be used in a variety of positions and offers both left and right 90-degree beams, the GPL3 provides flexibility on the job.
The GPL5E comes complete with a multi-purpose attachment that lets you position and mount with magnets, strap, or threaded mounts (1/4 to 20; 5/8 to 11).
Smart Design for Precise Results
The GPL5E features a patented diamond-cut beam splitter with a single diode that projects all points and eliminates offsets for superior accuracy. And with plumb and level point projection, the GPL5E accurately transfers and aligns level, plumb, 90-degree, and grade points. In fact, with a 100-foot range, the GPL5E is accurate to within 1/4 inch at 100 feet.
And featuring fully automatic electronic motorized leveling, the GPL5E blinks to indicate out-level-condition and self levels up to six degrees to reduce setup time and ensure accuracy. An added bonus, easy field recalibration maintains accuracy, and integrated reference lines allow for precise positioning of the tool and transfer of points.

Item works fine, the only complaint I have is that the adjustment screws and accompanying screwdriver are microscopic in size, and the screw heads are recessed in holes much larger than the screw itself, making it difficult to engage the tiny straight slot screwdriver into the tiny screw slot. With the large hole, you tend to miss the screw when you stick the screwdriver in the hole. I spent a long time trying to get the instrument calibrated after it arrived. Once adjusted, it works well and can be used outdoors, although the beam is hard (but not impossible) to see in direct sunlight. Sure beats using an old-fashioned transit.
