Excellent drill bit for tiles,

This review is from: Bosch GT200 3/16-Inch Carded Glass and Tile Bit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've used this drill bit to drill holes in my porcelain bathroom tiles to install different fixtures for towels, etc. I could not get through the porcelain tile with my regular bit nor the masonry drill bit (both were relatively new and still sharp). With this bit, it felt almost too easy - I drilled about 10 holes in about 5 minutes. It was almost like cutting through butter.
One issue is that I ran into a metal post behind the tile while drilling my last hole and the bit got immediately ruined. However, $5 or so price tag is still worth it in my opinion. Just get a few of these for a big job.

I bought this bit to drill through two ceramic pots with bases about 3/16 inch thick. Though it did a very clean job, it took nearly 30 minutes to get through both pots; by the time I was done the tip and sharp edges of the bit were gone. Next time I'll look for a diamond bit when drilling through ceramic.

Read the fine print......NOT for porcelain,

The bit was totally worn after drilling three holes. Then I read the fine print: Designed for ceramic tiles, not for porcelain. I gave it a low rating for not clearly labeled. I also doubt how it will hold up against glass, which is one of the hardest material only next to diamond.
