Tends to Walk at Start up,

I bought two sets of these to do a bathroom job that had some very hard marble tile walls. I tried using my standard four wing bits but they burned out on the first stage of this job. (I didn't cool them enough) I did complete the job with these, but I don't think they were that much better, plus they certainly walked more before I got a hold started. These cut best when they were dry, so every time I sprayed water to cool them down they stopped cutting until the water evaporated...then I had a few seconds of cutting action before I had to cool them again. I think I'll continue using my 4 winged cutters in the future.

If drilling in hard tile save your Money,
This review is from: Bosch GT2000 Glass and Tile Set, 4-Piece (Tools & Home Improvement)
purchased these bits for drilling some very hard bathroom tile. Kept the bit nice and wet with a spray bottle, but the 1/4" bit only drilled through one hole before it became useless. Use the DeWalt or Hitachi diamond core bits, they work 100% faster and last! DEWALT DW5572 1/4-Inch Diamond Drill Bit

These drills cut through porcelanato (very hard tiles) again and again without chipping. I drilled 10 holes for mounting a glass wall in the bathroom and the first hole went as easy as the last. Cool the drill well by using a sponge soaked in water while operating the drill at low speed.

I have only used the 1/4 inch bit, but I have drilled through several glass bottles with no trouble from the bit. It requires a little patience compared to using a wood bit on a 2x4, but that is to be expected.
I used the slow speed on my cordless DeWalt drill and did not press too hard. Actually I did press too hard on the first bottle and broke it when the bit went all the way through. That was not the bit's fault. I'd recommend these bits although for my use I probably should just have bought a single bit in the size I need instead of buying a set of four that have sizes I may never use. On the other hand, you can never have too many tools.

Works, only used on mosic tiles. It always crack the tile at the last moment. Tried spray water while drilling, same.

Couple other places online gave these Bosch bits a good review. There's also a you tube video comparing them to the cylinder style diamond cut bits which shows these bits ripping through tile. So I was expecting great things. I drilled two 5/16 holes. Each hole took me about 5 minutes to drill. It required steady pressure and a helper spraying water on the bit to keep it cool. So yes these bits do work, but they require a lot of patience and time from the user. One note, the package says for glass and ceramic tile. My tile is porcelain, which these bits are NOT recommend for. That's probably why they didn't work easily. Maybe you'll have better luck.
On a positive note, these bits started into the tile very easy with zero tile hop. So I got a nice clean hole on the first attempt.

These bits work quite well in bathroom tile. They will drill cleanly through a typical 4x4 glazed ceramic tile in maybe 10 or 15 seconds. The trick to prevent walking is to put a couple of strips of masking tape on the tile, then start the drill at the lowest speed your drill can handle until the bit begins to bite (less than 1 revolution per second, if possible). Apply moderate pressure to the drill until the very tip of the bit is inside of the tile. At that point you can begin to increase the speed gradually. Once through the tile, you can switch to a masonry or wood bit, depending upon the composition of the next layer, and save your tile bit.

It takes a lot of hard work. It took about 30 minutes of 2 people taking turns pushing (& short break in between), and spraying with water to drill through a stone-looking tile. One of the drill bit even overheated and split the tip in the process on the first hole I used it on. I found it is a little easier to start with the smallest bit and then switch to the next size up until the actual size you wanted. It is still a lot of hard work. Won't buy this again.
