Bosch HCBG800 Blue Granite 8-Piece Hammer Drill Bit Set

I knew Bosch made quality tools and router bits so I thought I'd try the Blue Granite set. I've only used the 2 largest bits in the set, but they performed great...never slowed down through concrete and rock.

WHat can you say about masonry bits> They worked good when new, and they work good after many holes in hard concrete. I noticed that Milwaukee bits have a hex shaped shankfor a more positive lock in the chuck, and these do not. But they work well and last long.

Considering that I purchased a 1/2 inch drill for 1/3 the cost of this set ... The purchase of this 8 pack (which includes the 1/2 inch) was a good deal. The drill bit made short work of 20, 1/2 inch holes drilled about 4-5 inches deep in 5000 cement. Used a Milwaukee 5380-21 drill also purchased on Amazon and made short work of securing hand rail flanges in the cement. I used Simpson Strong IXP Anchor Bolts and SetPac Epoxy to "glue" (a weak word for it as the epoxy hardens harder than the cement) the anchor bolts into the cement. The epoxy meant my holes didn't have to be exact as the epoxy expands to hold the bolts in the drilled holes. However, my holes were pretty exact in either case with the bosch drill bits. Great bits.

Great Drill Set. These really cut through concrete in short order. And the really great thing is that they stay sharp, even after 'several' holes. Bosch out did themselves with these, they really live up to the Bosch reputation.

I used these bits for over a year and was very happy with them. Used them to drill into concrete, plaster and block with great success. The only problem is, they came up missing while doing a job with my son-in-law with other contractors on site. I think someone needed them more than I did. I will re-order these bits from Amazon soon. After using some bits from another company, I realized how good they really are. I would recommend them to someone who does it all like me.

Super strong bits excellent for masonry/concrete/cinderblock. Guys in my neighborhood broke multiple bits going through our 1930 walls. I had no problems though with a hammer drill and Bosch blue granite bits.

This set of bits is very effective, as opposed to the concrete bits that you'll get in your typical cheap box-o-bits. Even if you will be doing a small amount of concrete drilling, it is worth it to upgrade, although if all you'll be doing is driving TapCon screws, you will be better off buying individual bits.

THis is a great drill set with all the usual sizes. The bits seem to last forever.

I used these for concrete drilling in my basement and they did an excellent job. Bosch really makes a quality product.

I had the plesure of over hearing a gal on a job site say these where good for high BPM (blows per minute) hammer drills (I'e light duty and cordless ones). So I asked her if I could try one out in my cordless drill on a waste brick, worked great!!! I was fully satisfied that bits this big (I think I used the "½) with that kind of point would drill like the smaller tri-point ones. Now don't misinterpret, it didn't zoom though that brick, but did better than all I've tried yet with that style point. Also they are pretty true from what I could tell, vary little warping and wobble.

I don't know how long they would last or what would happen if you started re-sharpening them but they seem to be perfect for light duty drills.
