Glorious Form and Function,
By Hansine Goran (Oakland, CA USA) - See all my reviews

Few products ever achieve the highest level of beauty and function. This one does. It is exquisite, perfectly thought out from top to bottom. It is powerful, efficient, handles all the tasks it takes five pieces of equipment to do. And WOW is is gorgeous. I sold my Kitchen Aid Professional Mixer, professional blender, food procesor and my Magic Mill professional dough mixer after getting this. Now I have one sleek, beautiful piece of machinery to do all those functions and do them better. This item is expensive, but not if you add up what yo don't need to buy in other equipment. This does it all. You do need to add the processor accessory. Do check out the accessories, they add many additional functions. EXCELLENT product. Hansine Pedersen Goran

Not Worth The Money,
By The Mixer helps with pizza/bread dough. I make a pizza dough every two weeks for my family that contains 7 cups of flour. This would strain my mix master. The Bosch has no problem with power, the problem is in the tools. The mixer's beaters will not whip cream. The bowl is too large and the beaters don't hit the bottom. You end up with butter and cream. I tried this several times thinking it was my fault. NO! My mixmaster still wins on this one. Also, there is no paddle attachment. I am making cookie dough with the dough hook?? What else can I do except whip out the mixmaster again. The plastic lid to the mixer came off and fell on the floor. It shattered! I can't believe it I've only had the thing for 6 months. Well, I may be off to complain to bosch. I am just happy I purchased it at Costco for less than $600.

WAY BETTER THAN A KITCHEN-AID!!!,

This machine is not only beautiful, but very powerful. I purchased mine on eBay for $510. The stainless steel bowl is very big,it's great for huge quanities. I would like if they had a smaller bowl to go with this for smaller batches. It still works very well. I can't believe the power. It whipped my mashed potatoes with ease. The stainless steel blender is awesome. I used it for puree's. It does a great job. You don't have to worry about it leaking like the cheap ones. I can't wait to do more baking with this great machine. I need to learn how to mix the ingredients when making a cake. The instructions on how to add them aren't very good. I would suggest you purchase a book about using stand mixers if you are a novice like me.

Ok,Maybe I'm just unlucky, But after 8 months, mine died. I don't have access the unit's failure rate, so perhaps this is just an anomaly, but I'm skeptical. I really didn't work it too much, in fact, due to an illness, it probably hasn't been fired up more than about 30 times. If I hadn't paid a grand for it, I could just shrug it off, but in fact, for around the same money, one can purchase an upscale Kitchen Aid mixer, and a professional (built for bars and clubs) blender, and still walk away ahead. In fact, I own a 18 year old K5 Kitchen Aid...that still makes bread and whips better egg-whites than this unit ever did. My 5 year old industrial blender BTW, still makes morning smoothies with out breaking a sweat. Sure, the best thing about this unit is it's looks, but for actual cooking, save your money and get some real tools, now...to find the box and receipt, and hold my breath....

You may have just blown the thermal fuse in the unit, by overheating it. With a little bit of know-how, you can fix it for like $1.25. Being still under warranty, you could get it fixed for free.
I hope this helps... Je77

I would gladly pay shipping to take that off your hands!!try and remember, it's just a machine, a tool to help you. if your husband spent that kind of money on a german machine, you probably can't do *anything* to hurt it. Good luck!
