Bosch, where have you been all my life??!!,
I am so shocked to read the 1-star review about this Bosch from a previous reviewer! I'm not quite sure that she knows how to use this mixer. I hardly ever use the lid. You can easily add ingredients to the bowl with the splash ring on. If you let one bad review influence your decision not to buy a Bosch, you would be missing out on a GREAT machine. This machine--besides my grainmill--is the BEST small appliance investment I could have ever made! I grew up in a large family. My parents raised 13 children. There was always something cooking in the kitchen. My mother went through a lot of mixers. I strongly believe that if she had a Bosch then, She would still be using it today. These machines are built to last! I make 6 1# loaves of WHOLE WHEAT bread in one batch! 3 batches of choc. chip cookies are no match for this big daddy. My oldest sister bought one and after hearing from her how great this machine was, myself, my mother and 4 other sisters all bought one. The only regret we have is not finding out about this mixer sooner! I tried making 2 loaves of bread at a time in my *325watt KitchenAid and not only did the motor sound like it was struggling, but the bread was as heavy as a brick. The Bosch on the other hand has a dough hook like I've never seen before. It developes the gluten 100%. I have never had softer, fluffier wheat bread. (I'm talking about 100% whole grain--no white flour!)
I sold my KitchenAid & bought a Bosch with a lot of attachments. My family and I couldn't be happier. I enjoy using the Bosch, and my family enjoys the great meals! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! UPDATE*** I've been using my bosch on a regular basis for just over a year now and my opinion hasn't changed a bit! I still love it and wonder how I ever managed without it!

Best Bread Ever!,
By Maria C. (SLC, UT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bosch MUM6622UC Universal Series Kitchen Machine
Pros:
I've owned it 3 years and it has worked great! Makes wonderful bread easily!! large bowl makes 6 loaves and lots of cookie dough (I freeze it) Cons: When you add ingredients if you don't want to make a mess you have to turn off the motor and take off the lid then replace lid. It's easy but slows you down a little. I don't own the blender or food processor attachments. I mostly do bread and cookie dough. I absolutely love this machine. I could not make bread without it!

BOSCH UNIVERSAL MIXER: Get A Kitchenaid!,
By Joanne (NY United States) - See all my reviews THE MUM 6610 is the base macine (no blender) so this photo is desceiving. Model with the blender is MUM 6622 This review covers the MUM 6610 and the accessories I have. I purchased this machine because the features sounded terrific and I have a bad wrist so the weight just under 13 lbs. was very appealing. Unfortunately, this was a compromise I should not have made. Picture this: SIMPLE PANCAKE BATTER, THE BOSCH WAY Twist bowl in position. Put dry ingredients in bowl. Seat whip driver on bowl. Put on splash ring and cover. Blend. To add eggs, remove cover & splash ring (if you choose not to remove splash ring, chances are your eggs will get all over the driver assembly). Replace splash ring & cover. Blend. To scrape, first locate a place to put the wet, dripping whips/driver. Now, remove cover, splash ring and whips/driver. Use one hand to hold bowl in place and the other to scrape the inner and outer surfaces of the bowl. Be sure to have a flexible spatula handy as removal of batter from center circular surface can be tedious. Re-assemble the whips/drive, splash ring and cover. Blend. Wash hands because you are a mess by now. Remove cover, splash ring and put whips /driver in that spot you found. Wash hands. Spoon batter out on to griddle. This actual experience with a simple batter is the only way I could possibly communicate the negatives of this machine. |
