The Bosch clothes washer was as advertised for the first 6 months: very quiet and effecient at washing clothes. Then, it developed a very annoying noise, which sounds like either the pump or transmission, and clothes come out soaked on occassion. Also, it is very difficult to find a repair shop that will fix Bosch clothes washer. This unit is OK, but unlike Bosch dishwashers, I couldn't reccomend it.
Turns out the problem was not as stated above, rather the discharge hose was installed improperly i.e. so far down into the stand pipe that it could not drain properly. The hose was almost always immersed in trap water, disallowing for proper drainage - it was a siphoning problem, not the machine. The Bosch clothes washer is an excellent machine, just be wary of who installs it! |
