Excellent picture quality.

It is great to non-destructively gather information on the interior construction of a wall, look at how wires are routed, etc.

This tool has worked out well for me and has been very reliable.

I recently had to snake a wire from my attic to my first floor though two floors. I had to get through two different closest. This Bosch optical scope made it super easy to do. I started with a small hole that would be easy to patch if it didn't look like it was going to work. It is so easy to use. You just push the red on button and then click the "+" button to make the led light at the end of the scope get brighter and brighter. The image shows up on the screen clear and easy to understand. You can twist the rope/wand so that the image on your screen is orientated correctly (meaning the top of the screen is the top of the way you are holding the rope/wand so when you tilt it up it goes the way you expect it to). You just have to give it a try. It takes two seconds to figure it out once you have it in your hand.

This product made it easy to fish wire through walls and around obstacles. Without this product I would have had to make much larger wholes in my wall.

I am just a handy home owner - not a professional. Maybe to a professional this might seem like an unnecessary tool but I found it very useful.

It was built very strudy. It seems like it will last forever. It is solid and rugged. The rubber on the body of the unit make it easy to hold. It comes in a nice case too.

I would highly recommend this product.

I picked the Bosch PS90-1A because of the 4-ft sensor cable length. Had second thoughts about the Bosch versus the DeWalt DCT410S1 (which I haven't tried), but since I got the video digitizer mentioned below, glad I got the Bosch.

Pros
1. 4 ft long optical cable (but didn't see any available extensions)
2. Image clarity is decent
3. Hard case included
4. Good build quality
5. Competitively priced

Cons
1. Very short (3 ft) video output cable is ANALOG only, meaning you can't save images to a PC without special equipment/software. Awkward video plug location. Video plug sticks straight out the back of the handle.
2. Expensive BATTERY ONLY operation, no AC adapter capability. Charger is huge.
3. Cannot independently rotate the sensor. It's all one big rigid piece, to turn anything you have to turn everything (Even if you have the 3-ft video cable attached).
4. English section of the user manual is ten small pages, half of which are product warnings (it's not a medical device), etc. Operating Instruction section is one-half page.

Update 30 Mar 2012: If you need to capture images from the Bosch scope, there is a solution. I purchased the Hauppauge 610 USB-Live 2 Analog Video Digitizer and Video Capture Device from Amazon, ASIN B0036VO2BI. See the photos I uploaded. The digitizer is very easy to use but you will not be able to run it well on a slow PC. It does the job very well on my HP G72 laptop.

I purchased this unit for duct and insulation inspection in my home. It is very well made, just as the other 12V items from Bosch. The picture is very clear and the optical wand is rugged. It seems to be fairly easy to manipulate the optical head to the position that you need. A smaller head would benefit - which seems to be available. I have a couple of other tools from this product line, so far I think they are a bit higher quality than others in the same price range. It also comes with a nice case. I price researched it for a while, but found once again that Amazon had the best price for this kit.

I was shopping for a inspection camera for my remodeling work. Tried both the Ryobi and Milwaukee model. Bosch video and build quality is much better. Does not have the rotate feature of Ryobi, but you don't need it once you know how to use it. A great little tool that you will found it indispensable in no time.

I own a few Bosch tools and they never disappoint. This optical scope is no exception. I used it mostly when working on the car, installing stereos and lighting. This week, I used it to look down the A/C duct in my car to find the source of a fan buzz -- sure enough, in living color, I saw that a pepple had worked its way into the blower drum. Paid for itself in that one use. You'll find all sorts of uses for this scope. The camera is sharp, the LED light is bright, and the thing keeps a charge a LONG time, which is impressive considering the RECHARGEABLE battery only takes 30 minutes to charge. The shaft is very rigid, which is actually good because you can shape the shaft and it will hold. Oh, before I forget, you also get some "attachments" that can make the scope more useful: a mirror, a hook and a magnet. All that in a sturdy, but oversized, carry case. Don't mess around with non rechargeable batteries. This scope is made for pros and priced for amateurs. You'll wonder how you got along without it - seriously!

I used this scope to run wires in my house and it saved me from drilling into a live wire. Very easy to use and has great picture quality. It took me a little getting used to the orientation but once I figured it out I would not drill into my wall with out it. I would have given it 5 stars but the hook attachment feel off in my wall never to be seen again.
