Bosch RA1100 Threaded Router Template Guide Adapter

Simple adapter that clips inside the Bosch template guide adapter. You will need this (or something similar) to use Porter-Cable type guide bushings (such as the ones that come with the PC Dovetail Template)because the hole in the Bosch router plate is larger than the PC. Note that the Bosch PR010 Round Sub base for Threaded Temp Guides for Bosch Colt Palm Routers will not work on the full size Bosch 1617 size routers; the screws don't line up. I bought both items at my local Rockler after the clerk told me the PR010 was what I needed. But after receiving product misinformation from Rockler many times in the past, I decided to get both & see which one fit; glad I did. Woodcraft also sells a clear Router Base Plate With Centering Pin that is supposed to do the same thing with PC style guide bushing & is also drilled for Bosch 1615, 1617/1618 series and many other router bases. I also have a Woodcraft nearby & will pick one up tomorrow, as I like a clear router base. But if you have any PC type guide bushings and want to use your Bosch 1617 type router, you will need one of these adapters, and the Bosch RA1100 will work fine.

I got it to use to accept collars for my bosch router from my collar set I ordered from rockler. It does exactly that, collar doesn't veir off center and it is not the weakest link in the works of the collar system.

note: its useless without the bosch centering cone (like 7 bucks) and probably came with your bosch router. Its worth it if you want to do nice work with a router collar.

This adaptor fit perfectly in my Boach router base. All Porter Cable style bushing work as well as if they were in a PC base. I keeps you from being tied to Bosch only products.

Does just what it's supposed to do. I took a chance that it would fit the 1 HP colt trim router. Since it does I figured that I would post this for anyone in the same situation.

I have the Bosch 1617evs router (the one with two bases). I bought it specifically to do template routing. Imagine my shock when my generic screw together template guides didn't fit. Fine. Buy an adapter. So I buy the adapter, (that would be this product) and the adapter doesn't fit. It turns out that you need an adapter for the adapter. Of course NOBODY stocks the adapter for the adapter, and NOBODY can tell me if the adapter adapter will work if I could get my hands on it.

If you care, I think the adapter adapter is Bosch model RA1126, part number 2610991370.eps. Of course I don't know that for sure, since I can't find anybody who knows, or for that matter stocks it. For example, you cannot buy it at Amazon, or Bosch for that matter. I certainly know that my shop will have exactly one Bosch tool, and that's only because I am too lazy to return the router.

I did not read the reviews before purchasing this item, and wish I had. I have the 1617 EVS Bosch router, and as other people mentioned you need an adapter to make THIS adapter work-- very screwy! For the price, it's cheaper just to buy a whole new base for my router. It would be nice if there was a better description of this item, and what routers it fits and which ones it doesn't. The description on Amazon is really not accurate. Careful!

If you bought this adapter for one of the Bosch 1613 / 1614 / 1617 / 1618 / 1619EVS series routers AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE TEMPLATE GUIDE ADAPTER ([...]) hidden away somewhere in your blue and red Bosch router box you will need to buy it before the RA1100 will work.

Yes, it's true, you need an adapter for the adapter.

The Template Guide Adapter needs to be screwed onto the plunge base of your router and then the RA1100 can attached to it via a spring loaded clamp which locks it in place. THEN and only then can you attach Porter Cable bushing guides. I was lucky, I just looked in the box my 1617 router came in and there was the Template Guide Adapter nicely packaged up with two screws.

Evidentially, some folks are buying Bosch plunge base routers that don't include the Template Guide Adapter.

This item is great, but you'll need to buy the RA1126 Templet Guide Adapter in order to use it with a Bosch router. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't sell the RA1126, so I had to get it from internationaltool.com. The shipping cost more than the part.

A previous reviewer (i.e., Adrian) wrote that he had to tinker with it to attach it to his router. I tinkered, and tinkered with the adapter and couldn't get it attached. I even tried to call Bosch but it was after hours. Then I thought I would remove the base plate (it couldn't hurt, right?), and T.G. I did. Because there in lies the secret to attaching it--at least for me. Under the plate I discovered the spring tension latch which must be engaged for the template adapter to lock securely in place. I suspect this is what Adrian meant by his "fiddling", but did not elaborate for those who would follow him. But I have! So now, there should be no excuses. For you other people that are, like I was, ignorant of this latch, now you'll know,and be spared the frustration.

Amazon sells this adapter in a bundle along with a 7 template guide set and a router fence. But it's the wrong adapter what you need is the RB1370 to adapt the template guides to the Bosch router base. McFeely's has them for $13. The RA1100 is used to adapt non Bosch template guides to the RB1370. Without the Rb1370 you template set is useless.
