All dishes were scraped clean of food particles.

They don't hold much at all (far less than the 20-year old dishwasher this one replaced).

I would strongly agree with the previous rating.

Don't be scared off by the negative reviews because we are THRILLED with this dishwasher!

Our dishwasher of 5 years recently died and we really wanted one that would LAST this time. I did a ton of online research (and interviewed some friends concerning their experiences with dishwashers) and found that the Bosch brand is one of the best as far as longevity. We got this one from the Ascenta series because it was one of the most affordable models.

I'm so glad we got it. My husband was able to install it himself without any problems. We've had it for several months (UPDATE: We've had it for nearly a year) and haven't had ANY issues. It looks nice (and the exterior doesn't seem to pick up tons of fingerprints, etc.). It has plenty of settings without being overwhelming: Heavy wash, auto wash, normal wash and half load. You also have the option to sanitize the dishes with a super hot rinse. There is a button to turn it on and off and lights that tell you if an active wash is going, if the dishes are clean, if they are sanitized and if you need rinse aide. You can also delay the start for 3, 6 or 9 hours. All of the buttons are clearly marked and nothing is the least bit confusing. The door automatically closes if it's a certain distance away from the counter and it has no problem latching. I really like the dish detergent dispenser. Unlike our old dishwashers that had a hinged door (that invariably wouldn't close after awhile or would clog with half used detergent) - this one has a slide down door that works perfectly. We use dishwasher detergent tabs and not a single one has clogged or caused problems. There is also a dispenser you can fill with rinse aide. You open a little door and just pour it in there to the fill line.

2 things i found about this dishwasher, you need to twist the holding mechanism and remove the spray bar for the top rack and clean the dirt out of the spray bar bearing seats otherwise the spray bar wont turn freely. Water pressure has no bearing on how this spray bar turns as the pressure is made from the internal pump and not from city water pressure.

the bottom spray bar can be removed just by pulling up on it and then you can clean the bearing surface easily.

try turning the spray bars, if they are hard to turn you got dirt in the bearings.

periodically while washing open the washer and pour in a cup of bleach, it will keep the mold from growing in the spray bars also.

mine works well, but I do clean the spraybar bearing surfaces about every month.

also there is a large filter in the bottom to keep glass and hard things out of the pump, this needs to be cleaned every month
by unscrewing the large plastic housing and lifting the whole screen and filter out of the bottom of the unit. the filter comes out of the housing and can be washed in the sink. if this is not done you might get a stinky washer and a bad drain cycle leaving your dishes dirty.

I bought this at Best Buy 2 years ago. (It came with both the products I mentioned bellow.) Today I looked up the model to see what others are saying and was in shock at all the negative reviews that this dishwasher had. I've found that when we switched to a different dishwasher detergent or stopped using the rinse aid, we got results that the other reviewers are talking about. You MUST use the "Finish Powerball detergent" and the "Jet Dry Rinse Agent", to receive the BEST results from the dishwasher, especially the rinse aid. I've linked them bellow.

Finish Powerball Tabs Dishwasher Detergent, Fresh Scent, 85-Count
Finish Jet Dry Rinse Aid, Dishwasher Rinse Agent, 16 Ounce

I would strongly agree with the previous rating. We purchased this dishwasher about 4 months ago and we have had the same problems. Sometimes the soap never leaves the dispenser and the top rack is always dirty. I found that rinsed plates on the bottom will come clean as well as the silverware, but anything plastic will have a film of soap (if dispensed during cycle) or greasy film from other dishes. It probably is a water pressure issue, but that doesn't help us get dishes clean now. Maybe the manual should give a recommended spi for this machine to work properly.

I almost didn't purchase this dishwasher after reading the terrible (but relatively few reviews) here on Amazon. Luckily I went to other retailer websites where they all had dozens of reviews - mostly all 4 and 5 stars. So I bought this dishwasher on sale at best buy at a surprisingly great price, with free delivery. After 2 months I feel I can give a good review except for the maintenance and reliability aspects.

We do have good water pressure, and we are a small family so the smallish interior is not an issue for us. We do a load a day. We do scrape and occasionally rinse some dishes before loading. It does take some time to learn the best way to load the dishes in, as it is a different layout than our old machine that we had for 18 years. However no matter how we load it, or how packed we load it, everything comes out super sparkling clean! Glasses look amazing, silverware, greasy knives, everything! We run it at the recommended Auto-Cycle, Rinse Aid and Sanitize and the results have been perfect.

We had no idea how bad our old 18 year old dishwasher had gotten. We blamed it on the hard water, and had tried every trick we could find that should help but still ended up with film on the glasses, and a brownish "baked on" discoloration on knives, we finally had enough, and decided to get a new one.

This unit looks great, and cleans all our dishes perfectly. It is VERY quiet and we are very satisfied.
