We are delighted with our new dishwasher, which we installed over a week ago. It is much quieter than the Amana it replaced. The dishes are sparkling clean. I have been amazed at the lack of any water spots or areas that look dingy. (This may be more a comment on the old dishwasher that I am so amazed but this one cleans thoroughly.) The tines in the bottom rack of the dishwasher are closer together than any I'd used or seen before. I was worried we wouldn't be able to fit as many dishes but the opposite has been true. Our plates stack in quite nicely and this holds our entire set, which the prior one couldn't do. The rack for flatware has a fold down cover that I found confusing until I read the instructions. The fold down cover keeps the spoons, forks, etc. from nesting so they all come out completely clean and spot free. This machine has been a great upgrade for us.
Update 10 months later - still delighted with the machine. It is amazingly quiet. One cautionary note: Switching to a cheaper detergent resulted in the dishes not being as clean so we went back to the detergent included as a sample with the new machine.

this is kind of a double review as i have had two bosch appliances over the last several years. when our haier dishwasher went we bought this unit and when we had nothing but probs with a first generation maytag front load washer we picked up a bosch washer too...based upon the name which i new well and associated with quality. the washer motors brushes went and i was surprised to find bosch had no replacements but only offered a new motor for over $200, customer service offered no sympathy either. the rest of the machine was still working well but i did not know if it was worth the price of a motor or looking for a new machine. we use it at least every other day for several loads. so it gets usedhard. found a place online in the uk that had brushes for a euro version of the model but also found same dimension brushes on an electrical site here in the us. had to detail the two brushes a bit with a file but they fit and are working well for 26 bucks shipped. if you check online searches you will find lots of folks complaining about this prob when the brushes go. as for the dishwasher...best i can say it is quiet. it never ever cleaned as well as our much cheaper haier. no matter what detergent or differing amounts of jet dry it just never cleaned well and always left streaks/clouding on glassware. read too many complaints of the same nature with no suggestions from bosch other than blaming the water! finally, tried using a miele detergent and it definitely improved the wash quality, the tabs are available here on amazon, but they are pricey. the biggest complaint that despite almost hand washing items that went in, there was always particles stuck on things, mostly the glasses on the top rack.Read more ›

The dishwasher is very quiet and it's hard to hear it running at all. For all of those who have complained about this dishwasher not drying the dishes, I can tell you that it does a good job. The installer gave me two great tips to get the best results from this Bosch. Place the cleaning pod in the silverware basket and make sure the water from the faucet is warm or hot before starting the dishwasher. The inside of the dishwasher does build up condensation after the wash cycle is completed so it helps to empty the dishwasher as soon as you can. I let it sit overnight and although there was condensation on the inside of the dishwasher, the dishes were dry. Just follow the instructions to empty the bottom rack first and you shouldn't have any problems. The dishes were clean and I like the silverware basket that allows you to put the items in slots or opened up just put the silverware in a bunch.

I purchased a Bosch Ascenta dishwasher in February 2013 to replace a 12 year old Maytag that worked just fine but was falling apart. I did a lot of research and Bosch came out on top with rave reviews from all the lead consumer boards. That said, I eagerly awaited the day the eyesore of a beat up Maytag would be replaced with a state of the art shiny new Bosch. What a let down I had when the first thing I noticed is that this dishwasher is so slim it doesn't fill out the space in my counter cabinets. Apparently the installer knows this because he came prepared with some cheap plastic strips that he placed in the space to fill out the gaps. So with the first blow of my new investment looking cheesy I kept my chin up and looked forward to new racks with no rust and sparkling clean dishes. Well, needless to say I was less then impressed with the cleaning power of this supposed super cleaning machine. IN fact they are no cleaner then my 12 year old Maytag. Not only are they marginally clean but they are always wet when I open the door. Where is the steam? or even the heat for that matter? It's always damp inside and smells bad in between washings because apparently there is no ventilation holes. Quiet? Not really, I can hear it. But honestly dishwasher noise was never an issue as I don't hang around my kitchen all night after I fire it up. I mean who really cares about noise? Aren't people sick of being in the kitchen after cooking, serving, eating, cleaning? I finally called to see maybe it was me, maybe I missed something or have to adjust something. What I was told it that, I need to empty it right away or the water that doesn't evaporate because their is no ventilation settles back on the dishes. OK I tried that.Read more ›
