The Bosch model SHE8PT55UC dishwasher was recently purchased to replace a SHU6805UC that was over 14 years old. The SHE8PT55UC was chosen because our experience with the SHU6805 was favorable, other than an initial issue with the door latch.

The installation went well except that the instructions were confusing. On page 4 of the Installation Instructions manual has a ‘Hot water supply line - 3/8"’ that is needed to install the dishwasher. Since the dishwasher is supplied with one, why is it needed? And, since the SHE8PT55UC dishwasher has a 3/4" FHT inlet connector why isn’t a 3/8" compression adapter supplied. All available dishwasher hoses have a 3/8" compression fitting on both ends. There is nothing in the manual that specifies that the inlet fitting is a 3/4" FHT.

There are inconsistencies in the Operating Instructions manual. On page 16 - Wash Cycle Information - the chart shows the times in minutes when the dishwasher shows the times in 'h. min.'. Why is the manual and the dishwasher different?

When stepping through with the 'Normal' button, starting on page 13 - 19. The manual states that the display will indicate d:00. This is confusing since the dishwasher display starts at H:00. The order of the settings on the SHE8PT55UC dishwasher are as follows (when stepping with the 'Normal' button):
H = Water Softening Settings
d = Intensive drying
r = Rinse Aid Setting
b = Signal Volume
L = Language
P = AutoPower Off
C = Settings

There is nothing in the manual that explains about the 'C = Settings' feature.

On page 18 - the feature 'Auto Power Off' - 'P' Is not described very well. When 'P:00' is selected (default), it says that the "dishwasher does not turn off automatically".

Amazing upgrade over the GE we used to have. Machine is very quiet (I can't hear it running). The display lets you know how much time is left in the cycle which is very helpful. The internal LED lights are a nice luxury. But most importantly, this machine cleans really well. No spots, crystal clear shine to all glassware. Very happy so far with this purchase.

This is a very good, well-designed dishwasher. It has enough settings that you may not be able to use them all. I usually end up doing the dishes in the Auto mode and they come out sparklingly clean and dry every time. The racks are well-laid out and flexible to accommodate dishes and glasses of different sizes. I had a GE Monogram for several years and it served me well, but this Bosch does the same job, more energy efficient and much more quiet ! So quiet that you have to put ear next to it to hear it running. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
