5.0 out of 5 stars Video review to clear up conflicting information

There seem to be plenty of conflicting reviews on both the left side extension and the outfeed extension, and I've made this video to clear them up. Issues cleared up:
- The front bar for the left side extension is short enough to not hit the red lever for the right side extension.

This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
Length:: 3:58 Mins

There seem to be plenty of conflicting reviews on both the left side extension and the outfeed extension, and I've made this video to clear them up. Issues cleared up:
- The front bar for the left side extension is short enough to not hit the red lever for the right side extension.
- Both left side extension and outfeed extension come with a stop knob for securing the extensions either open or closed.
- Both extensions sag just a little, which I fixed by placing a washer (approx 0.043 in thick) between the brace and the tablesaw for the _back_ bolt on each bracket. This modification brought it very close to level, for just over $2 in washers at my local big box hardware store.

I do say a few odd words here and there in the video (quarters when I meant washers, etc.) But I'm sure you can figure it out.

Overall review: These were what I expected, fit my 4100 series Bosch worksite table saw, and were easy to install following the included instructions.

4.0 out of 5 stars outfeed support, January 29, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
The outfeed support is a handy thing to have on a table saw. The only problem that I have encountered in useing it is that flexible materials like thin plywood tend to flex between the saw and the outfeed support and hit the support instead of going on top of it. This problem can be fixed by using a peice of scrap as a 'brige' to help the material make it onto the suport.

After reading some of the poor reviews for this product I had some reservations. When I unpacked and assembled the extention I soon discovered the problems others had described.1st the miter guide slots don't align with the notches in the extention.2nd the sliding rails are too far apart, one owner had elongated the mounting holes to address this. The actual problem is in the illustrations in the instructions! The pictures of the model 4000 saw and the 4001 saw are reversed.Simply mount one bracket facing outward[the one with the lock knob]and the other facing inward,as pictured for the model 4001,and the extention fits and operates smoothly! Perhaps BOSCH should correct the instructions instead of agreeing they had made a manufacturing error to appease a dissatisfied customer. I hope this helps others who encounter this problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Must have for large pieces, January 9, 2007

Bolts on easily. Supports well after the cross bar is redrilled to align the support with the table. It is 1/2" low to the table when at full extension. Only one thumbscrew included for locking position but both brackets are drilled and tapped for it.

Must be careful when cutting 4x8 sheets as the saw can tip with this support at full extension and the board hanging off it.

Not sure why the outfeed is almost 1/2 the price of the left side support, but its you're going to drop the money for the saw, this is a must have accessory. Its solidly built and exudes quality, just as all Bosch tools do.

I didn't have a problem with the retaining clips being too large, as an earlier reviewer noted. I guess Bosch caught this mixup and remedied it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice addition to a great saw, May 23, 2007
This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you own a Bosch 4000, you'll want to add this outfeed support. Saves you from performing a precarious balancing act when cutting long stock; improves quality of cut and enhances safety. A lot of value added for a relatively low price. Installs and operates easily and only increases the saw's storage footprint by a small fraction (adds approx. 4" at back of table, not much wider than the footprint of the Gravity Rise stand).

3.0 out of 5 stars It rubs on the Bosch 4100 Saw, and hits the digital read out, October 24, 2007
This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
Excellent idea, but it rubs on my new 4100 Bosch Saw, and is scratching it pretty good. Also, when the support is closed, it will hit the digitial carriage (read out display). If you want to dock it (magnetically secure) the display you have to pull out the support a bit. Again, I like the idea, but it needs a lttle refinement for the fit on the actual table saw.

1.0 out of 5 stars Backwards mounting necessary, August 26, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you mount the extension according to the instructions, the miter bar is
blocked from extending past the table edge as the slots in the extension
are in the wrong place; it is necessary to mount the extension backwards
so that the slots in the extension line up with the slots in the table; I
contacted Bosch about this error and they agreed that it has to be mounted
backwards to the table. Unfortunately this means that the piece sticks
out from the side and if the extension is pushed completely back into the
table, the guide bar is blocked. I'm surprised that Bosch does not correct
this manufacturing/design error.

5.0 out of 5 stars The other great addition to a great saw!, December 23, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bosch TS1002 Table Saw Rear Outfeed Support Extension (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had the saw for about a year when I bought this extension and the rear one.

You may have read this same review for the side extension but here goes anyway.

The saw has tapped holes ready for Both of them, they mount independently and work very well.

The illustration shows them both in a with rails in a vertical position which makes hard for a left handed person to visualize how they support the work. Of course for the less challenged you could automatically tell that they were mount to the underside of the table and slide out for use. My brain was trying to see how these legs could support it from the floor...duh!

Anyway, if you work alone (which you shouldn't of course!!!) they are a godsend.
