Bosch VAC002 Airsweep Vacuum Hose Adapter

I bought a Bosch 1250DEVS sander. I read review of it by EvilTwin and he stated this VAC002 didn't fit. I called Bosch and desribed to them I had a 1 1/4" standard hose. They told me it would fit. Took the chance, now regret it. EvilTwin was correct, IT DOESN'T FIT. One end slips on the tool loosely, but the hose won't fit on other end. I reversed it, hose fitting on other end but adapter is too small to fit on the dust port. I tried forcing it on, then decided to shave a little off the adapter and tool port. It is usable but does not stay on. Thought about returning but postage costs as much as adapter. You have been warned, don't buy this.

Does not work as an adaptor for Bosch vacuum hoses to smaller commonly sold household vacuum attachments.

Received the adapter promptly. But why is this necessary?
Bosch makes tools with off-standard sized ports that require
adapters to plug into vacuum systems. This shouldn't be
necessary.

Got this part with a Bosch 5" orbital sander.
The Bosch sander dust port doesn't fit a standard Shop Vac hose.
You need this this part for it to be hooked up.
But $10.99 ? It's a $3.00 part at best.

Having read several negative views on Amazon of what this adapter will not fit, I was skeptical and gambled on in to convert Bosch's 1250 DEVS oddball orbital sander vacuum port to my Porter Cable sander vacuum hose. Don't know why they do not make a standard fitting to fit the American Hoses but it sure would be appreciated. Unless they really need the $11 you lay out for this adapter. Anyway, this adapter's smaller end fits over the Bosch's exhaust port under the handle just fine. The opposite larger end, I screw my Porter Cable hose directly into using the inner opening. It fits just fine. One suggestion I would make to Bosch would be to perhaps make the fitting a bit more rubberized. (It's hard plastic)

Stop complaining, guys. I don't know if the VAC002 adapter fits any of the Bosch tools mentioned, but it does fit the 36mm dust port on my Festool TS 55 plunge cut saw. This allows you to connect a standard Shop Vac 1-1/4 inch hose to the inside of the adapter's outlet or, as I did, connect a Mr Nozzle 15 ft hose to the 1-1/2 inch outside of the adapter's outlet. The benefit of all this is to allow one to connect the metric sized Festool product to a standard sized Shop Vac, a lower cost alternative to going the extra expense of purchasing the Festool dust extractor and assessories. Since I currently own 3 different size Shop Vacs, why buy another vac just for the saw? I am not aware of any other adapters with these dimensions, so this one is worth 5 stars from me. I hope this little tip might be useful to others in a similar situation.
